This station is really beautiful and charms you with a feeling that you are in the highest railway station. We experienced the famous Darjeelig Himalayan Railway but I highly recommend not to try to explore this. Its too costly and not entertaining at all. Because of many constructions, you wont be able to enjoy the view from there. But you can visit the Ghoom station. That is well organized..

Ghoom railway station is around 20 mins away from Darjeeling. Toy train starts from Darjeeling to ghoom and return back to Darjeeling. Total trip is of around 1.5 hrs. Train halts for around 20 mins at Ghoom station where you can click pictures in parl nearby. Toy train ticket is slightly expensive (Rs1500) for steam engine. Steam engine gives you ultimate experience and vistadome coaches gives you best view of mountains and road outside. Must try toy train if you are visiting Darjeeling.
