Ghangad Fort - Fortress in Ekole, Tail Baila - Pune, India

The fort is lesser known so you won't find any crowd here even on weekends. The road from the Pune side is not good once you leave the main road in tamhini ghat. Adventure bikers will enjoy this road much as the road is very scenic during monsoon. Speaking about trek, the trek is easy for the first 70% but then comes a point where you will have to climb the ladder and then immediately with the help of the cable climb a little bit, this part is difficult. I saw many trekkers including us returning from that point as we went there in monsoon and it was slippery. I think this will be easier in other seasons. Also regarding food, there are no shops so carry it with yourself. For lunch you can ask people in the base village to make it for you.

Kille Ghangad is one of the offbeat forts outside pune. You have to take diffuclt road to reach there and help from locals for direction. It took us to 3 hrs to reach there and to climb 1 hr. Fort is Amazing and views have great you can see the Sahaydri ranges and different unknown Mountains. It was best experience for me as a trekker and wonderlust

Easy Treck For New Trekkers. hardly 40 minits to go on top. 2hr Road From Pune Through Tamhini Ghat. Couple Friendly. Need To Carry Water and Food There Was No Shops.

First of all, if you are coming from Mulshi side, then your vehicle must be in good condition. Because when u leave tamhini ghat and move towards Ghangad, road condition is worst. In rainy season you cant use this route. This fort is located near Tamhini ghat so you will get to see mesmerizing beauty of nature. If you are a beginner in trekking, this fort is a perfect destination for you. It is easy fort and takes hardly an hour to reach the top.

Small trek but little difficult. There too much wind on top of the fort so take care of your belongings and even take care of yourself as well. Mostly foggy during mansoon so you will not be able to see views from top. Road is slippery and there is small jungle like patch in trek.

It was a very pleasant experience climbing the fort. Even though it was Saturday, it was just me and my friend on the fort... seems not much visited... if going from Pune, the road via Mulashi is very bad and instead would recommend the one via Lonawala. One can get homely food at the base village along with the parking spot. It took around 45mins to reach the top and we spent 3hrs in total. Do keep in mind that there is a difficult patch after the first gate, which involves a ladder climb plus the side rope.
