Nice place to visit. Very Calm ,peaceful and greenery all around. Best for group parties, picnic and for couples. Road condition is very good . From main tatisilway road it's 9km inside. No opening and Closing time . Food stall, markets and restaurants are available within half km from dam. From dam overbridge the view are beautiful and awesome .

I can spend an entire day here. A bike ride through the green forest, fabulous landscape of the lake and hills on the other side, fresh air, soothing scenic of nature truly mesmerized me.

This dam or reservoir is also known as Rukka dam because the other side is known as Rukka. This is in the Ormanjhi area of Ranchi district which is 35 km from Ranchi town and 30 km from Ramgarh and hence a popular picnic spot for people of both the areas. This dam was built in 1971 on Subarnarekha river with the main objective to supply water to Ranchi town. In addition to that this provides a bit of fishing opportunity to the people of Rukka area , helps in generating electricity and industrial purpose. ** Caution : there is no entry fee or parking charge there. But some unauthorised people tries to collect money from the travellers specially the outsiders . Do not entertain them
