George Restaurant & Bar - Goan restaurant in Panaji - North Goa, India

My visit to George Bar & Restaurant in Panjim, Goa, left me with mixed feelings. While the location was convenient and easily accessible, the overall dining experience fell short of my expectations, earning an average rating of 6 out of 10. I decided to try their Prawn Curry Rice, which turned out to be quite disappointing. The taste didn't justify the hefty price tag of Rs. 250, making it feel like a lackluster meal. Surprisingly, just a couple of blocks away, I found an entire fish Thali for only Rs. 100, which seemed like a much better deal in comparison. Hygiene and service were decent, receiving a rating of 6 out of 10. However, I couldn't help but notice that the service seemed to prioritize foreign patrons, which led to delays in attending to local customers like myself. The restaurant's ambiance left much to be desired, with a somewhat dingy atmosphere and regular drinkers frequenting the place. Even the AC section wasn't as pleasant as I had hoped, which affected the overall comfort of my dining experience. Taking everything into account, George Bar & Restaurant didn't live up to my expectations in terms of value for money and overall satisfaction. Unfortunately, I won't be including it in my list of recommended dining spots in Panjim. In conclusion, while the location was convenient and the staff were courteous, the lackluster food, ambiance, and pricing left much to be desired. As a result, I personally won't be returning to George Bar & Restaurant for future dining experiences.

Much is hyped about certain 'Instagrammable' bars and restaurants in and around Altinho/Fontainhas in Panjim. However, as a foodie, my take is go beyond following the social media masses please. Let your heart and your stomach guide you to the right spots.. And that's exactly how I landed up at George's A nice small quaint place. Not overtly done up but just a proper setting for a decent place to hop in by, guzzle a pint and grab grub. Situated right beneath the facade of the main church (Our Lady of Concepcion) in Pato side. You have a medley of other places to grab a quick bite (vegans and vegetarians can pop into Kamat's opposite). But if you want to relish a nice Goan meal and enjoy your drinks, then this is just the right place to be. You're likely to be greeted by the ever-smiling Monty. He's a friendly soul and an excellent server. My take for the day was my eternal mog (love) ~ Choris-Pao and I had a nice chilled Kingfisher Premium to go with it. What else can I say? I loved my experience as always at George's and which is why I am telling you to try it too And you can also patronize the Kwality Wall's truck on the other side of George's. I dug into Feast for good old college times' sake. I'm sure you have your favourite too

Food served here is wholesome and delicious. Ate the beef stew that was cooked with green peas and veggies. It was simple and very tasty. Also, the rates are reasonable. Will definitely visit again.

A mixed experience....Some dishes were good and some terrible...the chicken vindaloo was smelly and was as sweet as a falooda. The steak was stale and powdery and had an overpowering sauce to it. Fresh Lime sodas were served flat and were replaced, but still not up to the mark. Some of the items were not fresh. In a matter of hours I had an acid reflux and some of us had upset stomachs. Attaching pictures...but don't go by them as pics could be deceiving at times.

Authentic Goan food.. I love this place so much.. Super delectable food

Place is good for local Goan food for quick meals. Small outlet. Ambience is not that catchy. Pork sausages chilly was tasty. Fish curry with rice was authentic. Placed at prime location.
