This is a gem of a fort located in this beautiful heaven on earth Chikhaldara.
Hard to believe it was built in 15th century as it still has its walls intact.
It is quite large and takes almost a day to explore it in its entirety. It was in a way a gateway to Burhanpur from Deccan Plateau and has a very rich history associated with it.
You have to book tickets online to avoid rush at counter where they also make you book and pay online.
Must visit place in Chikaldara. Just plan in advance
The fort has 3 gates in total, 2 lakes, a mosque which is ruined, and beautiful Persian inscriptions. The Gawilghur fort is truly a great opportunity to delve deep into history.

The view point just outside of fort is also amazing, probably the best view point in Chikkaldara.

Beautiful mind-blowing hill station Fort... Specially in monsoon there is so grenanary.... And the weather is also gud.... Very good Atmosphere...
Fort is very fascinating but it hurts cause it is demolishing slowly and it is not getting preserved as it was back then
