Historically..it's so beautiful and well maintained
Coincidentally visited srirangapatna and this cemetery is next to Parivarthana school.very near to the main road national highway.
If u visit this place most of them are British soldiers who died here in India & if u observe the age most of the soldiers is less than 40yrs.

Garrison Cemetery is located in Srirangapattam n is a historical landmark. The graves of European Soldiers is present here, time period 1800-1860.
80 graves belong to the Regiment de Meuron Switzerland, the Britushers or East India Company used these mercenaries stationed in Ceylon in its battles of colonial expansion.
The Cemetery is maintained by Jean de Meuron n Dr Sophie of the De Meuron family from Switzerland.
In 2007 , Louise De Meuron n his wife Monique visited the Cemetery, they were shocked n saddend by the poor maintenance n crumbling structures, they undertook the renovation, they had spent INR 3 million till date.
Many grave stones with inscriptions have gone missing n some seem to be deliberately erased or the engravings smoothness off!
It is a great historical monument and the government must atleast make sure vandals don't have a free run in here!
