GARCHUMUK ECO TOURISM CENTRE - Tourist attraction in Chandipur - Howrah, India

Our check in was at 12 noon, but we were to arrive at around 2pm. But a misadventure to visit 2 other spots on the way, spoiled everything. We reached at 4.30pm, but the Manager and staff were ready to welcome us. Just completed the formalities, and our lunch was served, piping hot. That's hospitality. We had a very comfortable stay.

A building within 100 meters from the confluence of Hooghly and Rupnarayan river.The building is not well maintained. One must intimate before 8 to 9 hours before reaching for lunch as serving food is not mentioned in the website.

Visited the place in March 2022. The sole purpose of the visit was to watch the cargo ships and barges from the closest. Just to remind readers that the shipping lane on the river Hooghly is towards Howrah district and not towards 24 Parganas (South) as the river depth is more towards Howrah. It was a pleasure to watch Ocean Eel, Klang, Shreyas and other big cargo ships as well as innumerable barges heading towards Bangladesh from the balcony or the terrace of the resort. One should book the three super deluxe rooms as they face the rivers, (the resort is at the confluence of Hooghly and Damodar rivers). We were a little unlucky as we got only one super deluxe and the sole deluxe room that was pretty average. Mr Joydeb would cook you fabulous Bengali dishes. No need to venture anywhere, stay with the rivers and watch the activities going on there, you would not know how time has passed!

For a day at the juncture of river Damodar and Hoogly, it is awesome. You could arrange a boat trip as well with your family.

The Place is conecting point of Hooghly and Damodar river. The view of rivers is very charming. People comes here for only day Picnic. Besides Damodar River about one kilometre area many groups are enjoying. Four wheeler parking fee Rs120. No other charges, No such drinking water facilities and others emanities like Toilets etc.

Vantage location. Moderate choice for food. Items are very tasty. Staff is good. The surrounding is crowded. Facility wise not vfm. Good for overnight outing for f&f.

Very nice tourist spot.... spacious rooms, clean bathrooms, fabulous view of river, ..... Hospitality and Food is excellent.... However, the authority should think more rationally about the maintanance of rooms, toilet.....and an in depth thinking beutification and maintanance of the campus would be highly appriciated.
