Gangotri, a Veg Nukkad - South Indian restaurant in Kolkata - 24 Paraganas North, India

It was 1999 when I visited Gangotri for the first time. The area had very limited options despite having a girls'hostel and multiple paying guest accommodations in the vicinity. Gangotri was one of the better choices. Cut to 2023 and I'm back in my favourite city. As I try to recreate memories by visiting places from the past, I end up savoring a masala dosa here. It still tastes amazing though the place has undergone massive change in terms of looks and seating arrangements. It's got an indoor and outdoor seating arrangement. The dosa was crisp, fresh, and tasted delicious. Service was prompt. Staff were polite and courteous.

So, it was Friday and we (me and my colleagues) had this awesome Chola Bhatura. The food was fresh and tasty. Must recommend. Thanks.

Best south Indian food in Kolkata. It tastes delicious and forgot to click photos, will surely click next time and upload it here. Became such a frequent visitor, that even the owner knows my all time favourite dish- fried idly. Absolutely lovable place and good service. Surely recommended outlet for foodies around the city, especially south Indian food lovers.

Quite a pocket friendly with really delicious dosas. We tried a masala dosa and dhaniya dosa, both were superb and good portions. Staff is nice, so is the seating area. Also situated in a good location

An excellent place for hang out with family and friends. The food is extremely delicious and they maintain hygiene too. The staff members are very cooperative. I have been visiting this place for last many years. A good place to have your lunch and evening snacks at a very reasonable price. Believe me, it won't pinch your pocket. One of the best South Indian breakfast I've ever tasted. Taste of sambar chutney is unique and delicious. If you want to try original South Indian breakfast this is the one. It took 15 minutes to serve the dishes which was little delayed in my opinion. But after I took the first bite of the food, it felt like waiting time was worth it. The food here is costly.

Food pictures for order are misleading. It was my first time ordering food from Gangotri. I ordered Plain steamed idly (received quantity-2) which was of average taste is not worth. It ordered delivery for dinner and by the time food arrived, all other restaurants had pretty much closed delivery options. It was not a pleasant experience to order food from here and then cook by myself because of misleading quantity in picture. I would not recommend this place for online orders if you are trying it for first time
