Ganga Ghat - Featured Reviews (231)
When we visit Nasik naturally our focus will be to take darshan of Lord Tryambakeshwar Mahadev after taking a holy dip in River Godavari. We may see many temples on either side of the river and bathing ghats. The famous Ganga ghat here was said to have built by Ahilyabai Holkar. I experienced a pleasant vibration while bathing in this holy ghat. It may not be exaggeration to say that I was little emotional due to much of attachment to Lord Shiva (here named as Tryambakeshwar), one of the twelve Jyothirlingas in India, which I have visited. I felt this type of vibration, which I term it as divine vibration, in all most all the pilgrim centers. It is the popularly believed faith that a dip in holy Ganga would wash off the sins of such devotees. These devotees (including me), as I have been seeing since several decades, are continuously taking dip after dip in Holy Ganga and other sacred rivers but yet they feel that their sins are not completely wiped out of such dips. Then it is left to one's imagination as to what an amount of sins are in stock of these (so called) devotees. However the common excuse is that 'it is a practice if not a blind belief'. The Ganga ghat looks majestic and stunningly incredible in the evening, because as I saw the river water is illuminated with a multitude of oil lamps and techno-colour natural flowers floating on the water as a sincere contribution of the gathered devotees. It is a feast to watch Ganga Aarthi at that pleasant weather. Thousands of people gather at Ganga Ghat to take a holy dip and to watch the evening function. Godavari is revered as the 'Ganges of the south'. There is Lord Sree Ram kund close to this ghat. It is the place where Godavari River takes right turn at 90 degrees. Ram kund is equally an important ghat as it is believed to be the place where Lord Rama used to take bath when he was here during his stay at Panchavati. The pilgrims do perform the last rites of their respected dead family members. It is believed that performing last rites for the departed souls here is equal to doing so in Prayag. When at Nasik please visit, apart from Tryambakeshwar Jyothirlinga temple, the five grand old Banyan trees called Panchavati, Kalaram temple, Seetha Gumpha, Thapovan (the place where Laxman severed the nose of Surpanakha) and the other attractive tourist important places. There are number of public and private buses to reach this beautiful spot. You can go by train as well. In Nasik you mat taste the traditional cuisine . Nasik is well known for its wine and for that reason it is nick named as the "Wine Capital of India", or the "Grape City". It is popular for its culture and tradition as it is an important Hindu pilgrimage

A very Holistic place where you can have darshan of a divine dakshin ganga Godavari river. The best time to visit is between 6-9 as at every temple aarti is going & it becomes a very memorable moment. It gives you a different experience each time you visit this place. Kapaleshwar Mahadev temple is very close to here. Kala Ram Mandir, Gora Ram mandir, sita Gufa, Maruti Mandir & Dutondya Maruti are popular places you must visit.
it was cool ... there are various small temples nearby and we can have 'ganga snaan' free of cost the view or the nature ,atmosphere of ganga ghaat is awesome
It was indeed a peaceful experience at the triveni confluence of Godavari River (known as Ganga of Southern India). The ambiance is soothing. One can spend sometime here for serenity. Bathing is also permitted at certain restricted places. There are Temples/Mandirs surrounding the area of various Indian Gods and Goddesses, where one may pay tribute. Small shops selling bronze items were fascinating. Food shops having tea/coffee and snack were available too. It is less crowded in the morning.
Very Spiritual place, full of positivity, a must visit place, it is situated in the main Nashik market, there are lot of temples around, it is very old place and it has history of Ramayan. The Godavari river flows through the whole area, it is really developed very well, it's like mini Kashi in Maharashtra.
Peaceful atmosphere, beautiful Godavari Nadi, and lively place all day long. Must visit when visiting Nashik, and perform a Deep Daan and Ganga Snan.
There are lots of temples around here. The place gives you spiritual vibes. View is also pleasant. But cleanliness needs to be maintain. Also the water is not clean to take dip. There are lot of temples around walking distance like sita gufa, kalaram temple, Balaji temple, kapaleshwar temple, goreram temple, naroshankar temple.
The old heritage which is popular for its religious culture. It's the place of God Ram, sita ma and god Laxman. Best place to feel the vibe of Aarti and river flowing nearby temple.
