Gandhi statue is considered as center of chandanagar, This is situated just beside chandanagar bus stop, it is the centre for many cultural and political events, flag hoisting, protests, and many more, all travel busses will stop hear at night, it is a very crowded place, it is the center of market there will be some food courts beside it and you will see some people selling frouts and flowers, after 10 pm you can find ice cream here.
For extending the road, things have been temporarily removed and people might find it difficult to identify. the Chandannagar bus shelter in stop on the main road near has been temporarily removed . New comers find it difficult to identify and wait

I went on a rainy evening. I bought all the stuff I needed. Including cloth belts and hair accessories. We could find almost everything over there except for Potli bags ( which I very much wanted). The prices were reasonable and I got my own loot . All you need to do is venture a little more into the small streets from the statue and you would everything in there!
