Rite now under development, spent my childhood awesome memories
Nice, mentioned in sacred Hindu texts but very poorly managed.
This is a Mahabharata time location but forgotten. Now some effort seems to be directed towards preserving this seemingly historic places. Folklore says that Gandhari used to come to this Talaab for bathing. Folklore mentions a tunnel that she used to come to this place from the Palace called Quila in colloquial term. But Quila is no more evident and the location which was supposedly atop a hilltop, has been encroached upon by the locals during last many decades though a small location exits which is locked away now. It is within the busy Market of the place. Definitely, the historical value of the place is immense and local administration must do more than the lip service.
Gandhari Talab is a pond or "Talab" which is believed to be the bathing place of Gandhari. Gandhari was the mother of Duryodhana(korav) and aunt of Aurjuna. Story of this place is related to Mahabharata and Hindu religious book "Geeta". Perfect place to visit if you are coming to Parikshit garh and wants to know more about Mahabharata and the history of Koravas and Pandavas. Place is good but the problem is government is not taking any action for it's development and cleaning.
