For environment purpose ganesh visarjandone here because Panchaganga river is highly polluted. Irani khan is near to back side of Rankala. Now a days useful for Ganesh Visarjan. ForGanesh visarjan hydra machine is used. It is very difficult. After visarjan Irani khan become highly toxic smells opens around khan.
I don't know when this panoramic photo was taken but my experience is contrary to this. The water has became toxic due to POP dissolved of Ganesh idols.
Basically it's Good but Ganesh Idols or other idols SHOULD NOT be immerse in this Lake There should be temporary water immersing lakes and waste should Not be thrown in this Lake;All the Lakes,Rivers Wells,Water Resources in India and in the World SHOULD be kept CLEAN and Pollution free
It's Ganpati Visarjan Khan. Because of the pollution, Kolhapur Municipality has set few fountains in it. To maintain oxygen supply in water. Which on reduces the dirty smell. Good efforts to make environment clean! But would be more happy if ganpati visarjan in any water is stopped.
