It's a group of near about 6-7 caves near dhansi murbad. It's a quite simple trek and enjoyable trek in monsoons , So had one of the best trekking experience here It's a beautiful place, a dense jungle and above all there's a Ganesh Temple at the top built by Pandavas. The trek is small but definitely not easy as there are lot of loose rocks and slippery patches. Either go with expert guidance by booking treks with likes of "Travel Trikon" etc or go with a group. Waterfall at the top is beautiful. Also there's no water or anything available in trek or in village so it is advisable to carry your own food/water or pre book the same at base village to avoid facing issues during trek. Also it will be quite hot and humid during Summer so avoid that season. While this trek you can enjoy other small waterfalls nearby !!Go and have that experience

Ganpati Gadad caves are wonderful especially the journey from the well preserved forests is a pleasant and joyful experience. Be careful at a few spots as they are slippery at times. Reddish Carved Sahyadri rocks distinguish itself from others as we rarely find red stone in Sahyadris. The waterfall is really beautiful and unexplored. You can experience breathtaking views from the caves near the waterfalls. The place is known as Ganapati Gadad as there is a preserved Ganpati temple in one of the caves.

One of the best trekking experience, just like almost all other Monsoon treks of Maharashtra. Calm and Peaceful place. No potable water near caves or up in the caves. Carry plenty of drinking water with you, specially if you are planning summer trek...which is exhaustuvely hectic and tiring.

Ganapati Gadad... The name itself hides the speciality of this place. Dark means a Cave. This Place is situated in Thane district, from there to Murbad taluka and the beautiful Village of Sonavle. The distance from Kalyan to Murbad is about 27 kms. Better to have your own vehicle. ST service from Kalyan to Murbad is good. From there, private vehicles can reach Sonavale. This place can also be reached through Malshej Ghat. For that one has to travel to Sargaon, Umroli, Dhasai and Sonavale. Along with this, there is also a route from Murbad to Mhsa Junction and from there to Dhasai.

Greak place for Trek. You get an outstanding view at the top. The Temple is well maintained and is clean. The only thing is that, there is litter and lots of plastic in the other caves. Please I request that if you visit or trek there do not litter the beautiful place. Cleaning should be done once a week. Rest everything is just great.

Its very easy trek short n sweet for oneday return or you can stay also, caves are also nice if you go in the rainy season it would be more fun with small water falls. if want to stay in the caves you can stay but dont harm or paint on the walls . You can take local guy from SONAVALE village with you. If you want lunch dinner local villagers can cook for you if you pay them. 60 km from kalyan.

The place is just Awesome you can literally feel peace over there. There is a small temple inside the cave and on monk is always be there. However some small caves is also there wherein you can stay for a night there. It was quite difficult to to reach at the top but it is worth it. We enjoy alot there and click some gud picture for evergreen memories.
