A good place near Siliguri. Famous for Teesta Irrigation Project. Now the Bengal Govt. has initiated many development projects for tourism like "Bhorer Alo", "Teesta Beehar" and others. More over the Local Bazaar will give you desi appetizers. Location_ 26 kms away from Siliguri U will go by Ambari Canal
It was a clear day, and we could enjoy the view of Kanchanjunga. Cycling is good. Okay for a visit.

This place is a hidden gem of West Bengal. If you visit this place between the months of Oct to Feb, you will witness a whole different world of beautiful migratory birds that fly in and coexist calmly with the habitants of the place. Undisturbed by the extreme rush of tourists as of yet, this place will always have a special place in my heart. If you are here, go for the boating. Else you will miss out on 90% of the attraction of this place. This will be an ungodly experience that you will not regret. The local boatmen will assist you and help you spot the birds since they mostly get camouflaged in the wilderness. Be nice to them and they will be nice to you and take you into spots that feel surreal. Tip: Birdwatching is best done EARLY in the morning as the sun just starts to rise. Locals are your best friend. Ask and be guided.
Testa barrage is my one of the favorite place in NB. 25-28 km from Siliguri town. U can have easily a day spend over there. If u wants spends a night that arrangements also there in these days. Fresh air scenic view and obviously fresh river fish. I recommend to visit.

It is a place to be enjoyed for nature. The river, the forest and the calmness of the area makes this place unique. There is a barrage over the Teesta river at this view point and one can stroll in the early morning or late evening on the bridge too rejuvenate. A few hotels are located in this area which apparently feels good from outside and also has good ratings in the net. The famous BHORER ALO hotel of WB Tourism is worth staying for a couple of days before returning to regular citylife. I didn't stay here but just halted an hour for breakfast in a roadside eatery, on the way to Kashyem, Munsong, via Lava. Journey by this route to Munsong, although a bit longer, is much more enjoyable and hassle free with no or minimum traffic jam. A place certainly recommended for a short visit.
Beautiful place to spend time watching migratory birds. There are boats to roam around and spot colourful birds. I visited end of November and the birds are still coming. Amazing experience.
It's good and very peaceful inside there's a good river beside and a jungle can be seen from the river overall it's a good place to visit and amazing for picnic
Dense forest, generally not allowed to pass. We were allowed at the moment by forest rangers. Strictly prohibited as its elephant corridor. Still very beautiful
