First of its type in the Southern Belt of India, this Buddhist Monastery cum University gives a breath taking experience to its visitors with its properties and uniqueness akin to any other Buddhist Architectural Buildings. Located quite in the interiors of the Western Ghats, in a small village named Mundagod, this place is not easily reachable for travellers unless opted to take the relatively narrower and small state highway to Bangalore from Yellapur. Undoubtedly visitors will be amazed by the way the area has been developed with the beautiful infrastructures, which includes shrines, schools, place of residence, mini medical centers and also commercial outlets. Words will be very less to portray the uniqueness and the beauty of this place, unless otherwise experienced. The entrance to the main shrine is demarcated well with a majestic gateway and the approach road to it. The approach road takes to the parking from which visitors are supposed to enter the structure by walk. Right on the left of the entrance after parking huge washroom/toilet facilities are provisioned and maintained very neat and clean. The place has a eatery outlet for its incumbents which is also open to the visitors as well. A majestic garden with smaller temples/shrines further welcomes immediately after the main entrance gate which are best places for photography. Overall this is a must visit place in the Karnataka Belt for any explorer.

Very nice place to visit, they have maintained the place so well and if u once enter the place u feel like ur in another country.

Good place to visit this university for monks. But to due to ongoing vivid, we didn't get chance to entry into the temple, it was closed for visitors. It's located in the jungle.

The tibetians were given land in Mungod for settlement near Mungod in 1966 and the had settled in 4 to 5 camps (settlements) and they erected this monestry with the religious taining and worshiping center with no of mnestry. The most important is this Golden Jangsle Monestry The main building is very impressive with big court yard Very colourful painting in red ,yellow and maroon and golden shades The day visited was the birth day of holly Dalai lama and a special cake was given as prasad and celebration on 6.7.17 3 days prior to Guru pornima (full moon day)

Beauteous and holy place. Further, climate of the area is so good. One can also see through eyes the real n historical cooperation provided to TIBETAN refugees by INDIA.

Must visit , amazing place.. on par with monasteries in places like north East and Nepal
