A perfect 2 Hour monsoon trip from Mumbai. I visited this place after looking at YouTube and Facebook videos and after a few suggestions from my friends and here are a few things that you need to keep in mind of you are planning to travel to Ghadeshwar Dam or Ghadeshwar lake especially during the current monsoon times. 1. The place is really beautiful and serene in the rainy season and gives you a perfect change in scenery. From a complete city area to a local village area. 2. Visit this place on a weekday between sunrise and sunset only. On weekends you will find Police Naka bandi and they won't allow you up till the lake at all. This avoid Saturday and Sunday at all cost. 3. You can only see the Ghadeshwar lake and go nearby to the lake side. The Ghadeshwar Dam is forever closed and no one is allowed inside. 4. Be careful while driving as the road becomes very narrow towards the end. Here honking is necessary. 5. At the lake, there is almost little mobile signal, so keep of note of that. Even while reaching the place, and if you plan to go ahead of Lake, there is no mobile signal at all. 6. You can try visiting the Ghadeshwar sunset point. It is a short steps hike for about 10 mins. 7. Keep the place clean, don't leave your garbage there. Despite telling multiple times, people keep doing the same. Please avoid it. 8. This place is almost 1 hr 30 mins from Mumbai and around 30-40 mins from panvel. 9. There are no food shops around the lake, but on the way, you can find small-small shops to get snacks and eat. 10. Enjoy this beautiful place 11. I can suggest taking a McD takeaway from panvel and enjoy having a coffee at the lake.

This place is based deep inside Panvel. Monsoon is the best time to go here because there's so much greenery around, the road looks beautiful and the dam has water gushing plenty. Since the place is far away there are no food stalls around, so be sure to carry your own snacks. There's one small water body near the mandir where the water is clean and good for a small swim. Overall, nice location for a short bike or cycling trip!

This location is pride of Panvel, specially in monsoon season. It gives you feel like Malshej / Lonvala. Developing village for tourism surrounded with lots of farmhouses, farms, Villages and attracting views. Gem of Panvel. Carry your own food and drinks and enjoy it anywhere in nature. (Just don't forget to keep our nature/surrounding neat and clean, please don't throw any trash in nature). #sundarpanvel #swatchapanvel

Good time to visit this Dam in the early morning and Rainy session only. I visited over there with the hope of sunrise but it is very hard to see from that place. You will find organic honey and other item close to Dam in a Village. But keep water bottle and some food item in hand because you will not find anything close to that place.

Best time to visit June to Feb.( Rainy season is best) Good place to have a village feel. Secluded places, so do carry water bottle and eatables(do not litter). Roads are in good condition. Now Visitors are not allowed enter the dam premises. 15 mins ahead of dam there is dhodhani river, take halt there and enjoy the view(see pictures). Be care while visiting river in rainy season.

Nice place to visit this place visit on Panvel - Matheran Rd. It is like a heaven in monsoon season. And U R near to Matheran base point from where U can trek to reach to Matheran. Wonderful place for cyclist to have an amazing experience to increase the stamina on various slopes.

Wow!! What a place, It's another destination for peace, nature, clear water, birds, mountains and many more things which you won't get in a trip of Lonavala or Mahabaleshwar, it's 10 km from panvel station you can take your car or bike, you can park your car on one side and enjoy the nature, make sure you carry foods or drinks with you, you won't find much shops or wine or bars, good resorts and stays are available. You can see this view from Matheran mountains peak. Best time to visit in rainy days, make sure you take care of your safety. Advice - Don't spoil the beautiful Nature by throwing garbages / bottles or plastic bottles
