Fudam Bird Sanctuary - Tourist attraction in Diu, Fudam - Diu, India

We were here at the wrong time. A part of the sanctuary was not accessible due to renovation work. However, we could enjoy the whole scenic surrounding just perfect to be captured in a snap. We spotted a few heron and pelican, otherwise not much. The place is so well maintained and so quiet. We were spared all the noise and rush that you usually see during the Diwali season.

Visited here early morning in month of November, and yet not much to see. The boat ride starts by 830am only, and hence couldn't go for it. At Max you can spend 1hr spot a few birds.

Nice experience with kids. Rs 75 entry fees for adults with speed boat rides in mangrove trees forest in water. Herons and some other birds are seen. Good service by staff.

Best place for Sunset . Not many aware of this place. Car and bike parking available. The place is well maintained. I have not seen place crowded ever. Good evening walking or morning running place. Not seeing many birds any more as before. They need to build small bird's stay in or feeding pots where birds can visit regularly. Currently, they focused on visitors and based on that they have created this place. I now hardly see birds around.

It's a very beautiful and calm place. It's a shallow sea water area. Many birds like kingfisher, white ibis, black ibis, duck etc can be seen at this place. In winter season you can spot migratory birds like Saras crane, pelican, flamingo. A watch tower has been provided for bird watching. View from watch tower is beautiful. Beautiful and serene garden is also available at this place. Sometime more birds can be found at an another pond which is little ahead from this place. It can be accessed through main road towards city side and take a turn on a road opposite to Kohinoor resort. I call it Unexplored Bird Sanctuary. It is natural rain water pond so many birds get attracted to this pond instead of actual fudam bird sanctuary. I have added some photos taken at that spot.

You have to be patient , if you want to see birds here. And to capture them take DSLR with zoom lens. Best time to visit morning 7 AM. Even I reached there well before sunrise, I didn't see birds there although I could hear them.

There were more birds on the other side of the sanctuary... Overall the place is very clean and quite. Peaceful for a morning walk...
