Truly a unique experience. Very remote & off the grid. Very grateful for spending a few days here. We didn't spot any tigers or elephants but really enjoyed our stay regardless. Our guide Shaji was amazing; he was very knowledgeable of the flora & fauna and went out of his way to give us a fun experience. Thank you very much!
Excellent experience. Our group did not want leave from there! We will probably be back for a longer stay in the future. Rooms are simple and comfortable with hot water for showers. The food was very delicious and enjoyable. The location of course is absolutely incredible, much more than a 5 star! The team is lovely, polite and hospitable. Shaje especially made a big difference to our stay there. Both the Aneesh's were very helpful. Anil was very easy to coordinate everything with regarding location and all the other logistics.
Amazing place to visit. The location is heavenly, the service, very warm and welcoming. The rooms are basic and comfortable, but the true essence of the place is to spend as much time as you can outside your room, and feel like you are able to soak in all the natural surroundings around you.
Fringe Ford is located amidst lush green forest. At night, you don't even seen any light beyond property boundary. The chirping of birds, the butterflies on the property make it an amazing place! Like their tag line, it is a place to get lost in nature
We recently visited Fringe Ford. It is a scenic place, where one can experience nature at it's glory. My family and i visited in the monsoons, so we were restricted by the rains. Nonetheless, we enjoyed a relaxed stay, with sumptuous food. The property is preserved quite aesthetically. And I would give a 10/10 to this. I do have some concerns, though, and i write it with all seriousness. 1. I had a 6 yr old and it was quite difficult for him to even step outside the room because of the leaches. Although we knew there was a leach problem in the monsoons, it would have been helpful for the admin to have informed us about its gravity. He was bitten a lot of times, even inside the rooms (with shoes on), and although me and my husband weren't bothered for ourselves, I would definitely not recommend a pre-schooler to visit in the monsoon. He had to be carried all the time. This was quite inconvenient. 2. Add to that, the naturalist/care-taker of the resort, Shahji, was apathetic to this. He kept shaming a child this young for being afraid of leaches, even after the young one was bitten so often. 3. This man was uncourteous and full of himself while speaking. He was quite moody during our stay, choosing to be helpful or not at his whim. 4. As a woman, he made me feel very uncomfortable with his ungentlemanly remarks, often slyly. We chose to not confront him there as we were completely dependent on him for our safety, in the thick of the jungle with no network or alternative authority to approach in the premises. All in all, Fringe ford was a out of the world experience, sans Shahji. Would request if there could be another person also available as an alternative, we would love to visit the place again. P.S. We tipped the staff in general for their efforts, in the hands of the caretaker since we had no other option.
I had a lovely weekend at Fringe Ford in monsoons exploring around the property, watching birds, frogs and reptiles. The food served is yummy, it was an absolute bliss to spend two days with no connectivity to the world outside.
Absolutely breathtaking property in the middle of a private forest. If you love the wilderness this is the place to be in the able hands of the staff and the very talented naturalist Shahji. Breathtaking walks in the Malabar rainforest amongst streams, waterfalls and wildlife, excellent food from the in-house kerala chefs. Plan to be outdoors as far as possible. Fringeford is full of soul and the heartbeat of the wild.
It was the pinnacle of experiences for each one of us and a welcome reset for the family as a whole. The hospitality of Anil bhai and his group was outstanding. Thank you so much to Shaji, who engaged us with his stories and knowledge of the jungle and had us on our toes the whole time.
Go early morning for spectacular view. Open at 7am and fee is 45 for adults and 25 for children. When I went last time, there there is fog and beautiful views. May not be always, if there is no fog will get longer views. Road is steep. I recommend go
