Fort Madhogarh - Resort hotel in Bassi, Gwalni - Jaipur, India

Oh no. I didn't have a great time here, mostly because there were a lot of bugs in the room. The fort is fun to explore, definitely a playground. The history is amazing, the views are impressive. And the staff is so kind that I hate to leave a sad review. No AC, weak wifi (only in common area), no hot water -- not problems. So many bugs (particularly spiders) in the room is a problem for me. I stayed here as part of an Intrepid tour, and it was by far my least favorite moment. Others in my tour group said it was their favorite stay of the trip, so I think it really depends on which room you get.

I stayed here as part of an Intrepid tour and didn't have a great experience unfortunately. During the less than 24 hours I spent at the Fort, we experienced 6 blackouts, no water supply in most rooms and definitely no air conditioning. The rooms were dangerously warm at night with no relief. I ended up having to sleep on a couch in the central lobby area, as it was a bit cooler. Not to mention the infestation of ants, silverfish, beetles and mosquitos. Would not recommend anyone stay here.

Mixed Feelings at Fort Madhogarh - Beautiful Views but Lacking Comfort Fort Madhogarh, located near Jaipur, is an exceptionally beautiful place with stunning views that left a lasting impression on me. However, my overall experience was somewhat dampened by the lack of comfort in the accommodations. Being aware that there was no air conditioning, I was prepared to rely on the provided desert cooler. Unfortunately, the cooler was not functioning properly during my stay, and this significantly impacted my ability to get a good night's sleep. The staff did fix the cooler the following morning, but it was too late for me to benefit from it. In addition to the cooler issue, the beds were quite small and uncomfortable for a person of my height (6 feet). I also had to request that the staff replace the sheets on the bed, which was not an ideal experience. On the positive side, the staff member who attended to us was kind and accommodating. However, it was apparent that the hotel was understaffed, with only one person responsible for most of the work. As for the food, I was disappointed to find out that the meals were brought in from outside and not freshly prepared on the premises. The reheated chapatis lacked freshness and taste. Additionally, the electricity was unstable during our stay, with several interruptions over the course of the night. While the beauty and views of Fort Madhogarh are undeniable, the overall experience did not meet my expectations. The lack of comfort and basic amenities, coupled with the malfunctioning cooler, left me feeling unsatisfied. If you plan on staying here, be prepared to make some compromises for the sake of the stunning location.

Very perfectly set on the top of a small hill, seems like you are walking into a fairy tales surrounded by very beautiful Madhogarh village and the farmland spreaded all around. horizon is seems like it is painted with Aravali hills with the unforgettable sunset.

Stayed here with an Intrepid Travel tour. It was magical to sit up on the terrace overlooking the little town, sipping tea and watching the sunset. The next morning they served us breakfast up there too.

The meal was nice and tasty and the views above the Fort at sunset were 360 degree beautiful. We all enjoyed dressing up in traditional clothing, for fun after dinner. The walk to the village was enjoyable and just loved the children. Rooms were great and the whole atmosphere here was super special.

A unique heritage property with a lovely local staff. I lived the rural setting and walking around the village in the evening. Food was great and traditional and sunset drinks on the roof was lovely. It's not super luxury but it's basic and clean and a nice change from the big cities.

Please note only people who book rooms for stay are allowed inside. Visitors those who want to explore the fort from inside, even if ready to pay entry fee, or eat something inside as it is a resort is not possible. We even requested over phone as we went from Jaipur to visit the fort, however our request was declined. The fort has been converted and not restored.
