Excellent place to visit specially during monsoon and rainy season .. very scenic road which passes thru forest. Boating is available which is again a tourist attraction with good view. It's basically Koyna backwater.. one can first complete Kas Pathar and then proceed with private vehicle to Bamnoli Lake. Please do carry sufficient eatable as there is no quality restaurant nearby.

Almost clean lake water, camp site, bonfire, dense forest, Vasota fort for trekking/hiking trails. Forest police doing good job keeping records of each plastic or disposables items in each bag also need to keep deposit amount for these identified items and the deposit is returned when you come back from trek and the items list matches before and after trek, this has resulted in very clean forest and lake area because this is making people more aware and responsible for their own items they carry and to care and respect for the nature. Downside: Limited place/lodging for people who want to stay at night. Limited and not proper maintained public toilets, no changing rooms unless you have rented or stay in own tents.

Bamnoli village is the scenic village close to Satara that is located on the bank of Shivsagar Lake formed by the Koyna dam. boating is that the main attraction of Bamnoli village, native folks provided boating for tourists to go to Tapola (Mini Kashmir), Vasota Fort and Nageshwar Temple. There are multiple boating choices to choose from and one will either select a short ride around Shivsagar Lake, or visit Tapola mini Kashmir of Maharashtra, or take a guided tour to Vasota Fort or Nageshwar shiv temple. boating value is cheap on condition that you're traveling in a cluster else you need to pay the total amount for any ride. Travel on NH 4 Pune-Bangalore route towards Satara town and take left on the exit for Satara town. Bamnoli village is situated at the top of Kaas Pathar on the means towards Mahabaleshwar via Tapola. Travel until Satara, when crossing town and simply before the tunnel take a right turn for the route towards Kaas Pathar and keep traveling for 50 kilometers from Satara town to reach Bamnoli village. The awesome experience in nature tour the back water of Koyna Dam n wildlife Safari too then club boating, bone fire, Firecamping all these can be here so for adventures in nature so have to go there for outing.

It was really nice experience. We visited Bamnoli dam, Vasota Fort. Vasota trekking was most exciting adventure I have ever done. Here we got peace of mind, fresh air. It's a ancient place where you can feel the Nature.

What an amazing place to camping, It's base village of Vasota fort trek around 130km from Pune and just after Kaas platue. Sunset scene is awesome here. Public toilet is also available here. Tickets rate is attached with this post

Very well maintained. They are polite and provide you with proper information. They do maintain the forest area well. You are not allowed to throw plastic bottles. There is plenty of space available nearby, at the backwater to park and tent, free of charge.

Vasota trek from Bamnoli was good. The boat ride is a different experience. But the villagers should stop using the diesel boat for transportation. They are causing so much pollution to the beautiful waterbody. Plenty of options to get food that you can carry to the top of the fort. The locals here are helpful.
