These Grain Silos owned by Govt. Of India through Food Corp. Of India at Narayana were built in 1970- 71 by a Govt. Of India Public Sector Undertaking - Hindustan Steelworks Construction Ltd. H.O.at Cacutta(HSCL) by using first time SLIP FORM SHUTTERING for construction of these silos. The casting of walls became easier and at higher speed to push its completion at a greater speed. The slip form shuttering was moved vertically with hydraulic jacks. One can imagine this was a better option and also a better way to save money in construction for HSCL in 1970 i.e almost 50 years ago. QUALITY OF FINISH WAS SUPERB. The HSCL co.was formed in 1964-1965 for construction of Bokaro Steel Ltd. - Steel Plant HSCL SPREAD ITS ACTIVITIES ALL OVER INDIA. IT COMPLETED STEEL PLANT WORK IN AGREED TIME SCHEDULE. Its & Chairman & MD Mr. Raghunath Singh Gahlowt was awarded PADMA SHRI in 1973 for co's over achievements. It is a brief story connecting this FCI SILOS
