Food corner - Restaurant in Edayanchavadi - Villupuram, India

Very good local food and great service. Good fresh drinks too which is v hard to find! Really enjoyed our meal here, will be back.

So we visited this place after looking at great ratings but we missed that no of ratings is just 20.. Food was somehow really bad.. One needs special talent to mess it so much.. Unnecessary attitude by waiters was another feather in their cap.. After being at receiving end of series of bad manners.. We were served with a dish with 6/8 pieces raw chicken covered in some sauce the dish landed our hopes back on earth.. Other dishes were served with pinch of bad manners as well.. People should attend auroville programmes to get peace of mind maybe..

You can see Cob webs under the tables adjacent to yours. Hard and cold chapatis. 6 small pieces of chicken in a soup bowl full of tomato and onion gravy which they call - chicken chettinad. That's what you get when couple of local boys decide to play with the idea of having their own restaurant! The only good thing about this place is the Free WiFi. Easily avoidable.

We visited this restaurant after a long day of enjoying Auroville's natural beauty. We had been without food for more than 6 hours, and after looking at the 4.8/5 rating of this place, all we expected was simple tasty meals. However, it was only a series of screw ups that we got. The server had no clue about the availability of any item on the menu and had to check at the kitchen window for every dish we named. He asked us to wait 45 minutes for the food, but even after that time, the orders were incomplete and not what we asked for. First and foremost, they served us raw chicken!!!!! And when we pointed it out, the server very nonchalantly said "so?" Dry schezwan veggies were served with a gravy. We returned it and asked for the dry version, only to be presented the exact same bowl ten minutes later (and still with a gravy!!) The food was undercooked, and none of it was fresh. There was no flavor to any gravy (chicken curry, chicken chettinad), butter naans were without butter, and all this was interspersed with the server telling us every 10 mins about something that was not available. The chicken noodles and fish fry were decent, but only compared to the rest of the disastrous meal. There are much better places in Auroville to try and this place is most certainly a miss!

When compared to nearby food corner, this one is really good and friendly service with reasonable price.
