It's a good hotel with good food and great service. We've reached the hotel at 3 pm and couldn't get to eat the biriyani and meals. Rather we got to eat porotta, mutton curry, mutton fry and chicken fry. The food is pricy and quantity is less other than that it's good.
It was a place where I had heard of mutton biryani special, so I was expecting a lot. I don't know if it was due to high expectations, the biryani seemed average. Service and ambiance are all good.
This was my first choice when i planned a trip to Kollam. Loved their mutton biriyani and Mutton curry. Amazing taste. Here the Kerala style biriyani has the raisins added to the masala and it is of good taste. Mutton was amazing. Repeated the order and enjoyed the food. And took take away as well. Tried their parotta as well. Nice ambience. Parking available. Don't miss this restaurant if u r in kollam.
Worst biriyani ever had, it was like rice mixed with turmeric powder, they should learn how to prepare authentic biryani with chicken flavours in the rice. I couldn't eat and left the rice. Would advice Fayalwan owner / management to visit any hotel in Kozhikode to taste the authentic biryani. Meals was good, better they stick on to their local meals. I wouldn't recommend Fayalwan restaurant for biryani.
Tried fayalwan biryani and meals and fish fry. As their mutton biryani is the most hyped item i tried it first but to my disappoint i couldnt get the exceptional flavours i expect. It a good n sweet biryani. Meals and fish was actually worth it for the price. Me being a trivian i have tasted better biryanis in trivandrum itself. I went to kollam for some other things so no regrets. Not worth a dedicated visit
The food was just horrible. We had mutton biriyani, porotta and mutton curry. The biriyani might be a local favourite but did not workout for us maybe the flavour profile in the malabar region is entirely different. We could only taste chilli powder in the mutton curry. The quality of the mutton is really good and is appreciable but it is all for nothing because of the overpowrring of chilli powder. The restaurant was very busy when we went during the lunch hours. The parking is a bit tricky. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for the mutton dishes and there are better options to choose from in Kollam.
Whenever I come to Kollam, eating food from here is a regular habit of mine.. Very good food is available from here. Whenever I eat food, I always order a chicken fry from here. The chicken fry here has a taste that you cannot get from other hotels. However, it is very crowded here. We can see essential cleanliness here.
