My visit to the rubber dam in Gaya, Bihar, was extraordinary. It's Bihar's first rubber bridge and the second in India, offering a unique experience. The dam seamlessly blends with its natural surroundings on the Falgu River. The rubber bridge is a standout feature, providing flexibility and stability. The project's eco-friendly approach and benefits to the local community are commendable. A must-visit for its engineering marvel and natural beauty.
The Gaya Ji Dam, situated in the picturesque city of Gaya, Bihar, is an impressive example of engineering and natural beauty coming together. This dam plays a vital role in the region by serving as a water reservoir and a source of irrigation for the surrounding agricultural lands. It's not only a testament to human ingenuity but also a symbol of the harmonious coexistence of man and nature. One of the most striking aspects of the Gaya Ji Dam is its scenic location. The dam is set against the backdrop of rolling hills, lush greenery, and the serene waters of the dam itself. This picturesque setting creates a tranquil and refreshing atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for nature enthusiasts and picnickers alike. The dam structure itself is a marvel of engineering. Its primary purpose is to store water, which is essential for irrigation, especially in an agriculturally dominant region like Gaya. The dam's design is not only utilitarian but also aesthetically pleasing, with its clean lines and well-maintained infrastructure. The walls of the dam rise majestically, creating a sense of grandeur and stability. Moreover, the dam's impact on the agricultural landscape of the region cannot be overstated. The water stored in the dam provides a lifeline to local farmers, enabling them to cultivate their crops and support their livelihoods. Your visit to this amazing location must have left you with lasting memories of the natural and man-made wonders it presents.
Asia's longest rubber dam. Made across Falgu river just beside the fabled Vishnu Pad temple. Great lightings and a long and clean area to walk beside the river. Sita Kund is just beside the dam. A bit crowded on weekends or holidays.
Dams are many in India but, this is not the case with Rubber dam . Bihar made first of this kind. This dam and the steel bridge above it not only helped the locals but also helped those who come to Shri Vishnupad mandir for Pitrapaksh. Since it's inauguration, it has also become a tourist destination.
View Looking goods beautiful rubber dam at vishupad in gaya ,it has solved the water problem for visitors coming to gaya specially for religious purpose like pind dan etc, I hope water will remain whole the year on the bank of river falgu at the deoghat area near vishupad tample .now it is upto citizens of gaya to keep the area maintain. As per stone placed near dam ,it is the biggest rubber dam of the country , rubber dam is made of 17mm thick rubber, it is bullet proof and it's 1.4 kilometres length
Built at a cost of Rs 312 crore, the dam uses rubber instead of concrete. It is also environmentally friendly. It is three meters high and 411 meters long. It has six spans of 60-65 meters in length. Rubber sheets have been installed under the river in a length of about one thousand meters. Its diaphragm is three hundred meters. Dam is like a balloon. Its rubber tube has an automatic system for filling and removing air. Balloon air can be removed when the water is high. This will prevent and release water as per the need. According to the information, the Austrian company and the Hyderabad-based agency have prepared it together. The rubber dam is made of 17 mm thick rubber. It is bulletproof. At the same time, it is being claimed that it will not deteriorate for one hundred years. Built in Gaya, a famous pilgrimage site of Hindus and Buddhism, this rubber dam will keep water in the Falgu river throughout the year. This will facilitate people in bathing, pind daan and tarpan. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had laid the foundation stone on September 22, 2020. Its construction was then targeted in October 2023. But it was completed in 2022.
6th June 2023 - I visited this place in the summer season and I recommend you to come in the rain season because if you visit here in summer you will not get the water of the falgu river. I recommend you to come in the evening or at night. Good initiative by Bihar government but due to illiteracy you will see spit of paan and gutkha everywhere (paan aur guttkhaa thuukaa huaa / ). The government had invested a lot of money in creating this dam but they are not invested in anything in repairing and maintenance. You will see spider webs and a lot of dirt here. The Falgu river also lost their sand. You will see clay everywhere. There was no water in the dam. The river was completely dry. I request the government to take action and save their good efforts. You can chill out here in the morning or in the evening at the time of the rainy season. You will get attractive lighting at night.
Off you want to give your eye a pleasure come on here an watch very nice scenes on this dam this will relax your mind Very nice dam this project is very big over bihar The government of Bihar taking many decisions one of them it is very good decision for all bihar people It project is called as rubber dam project situated in gaya tha land of budhha
