Envy - Central Railway Station - Restaurant in Chennai - Chennai, India

Well maintained by Railway dept. Taste okay but something missing. Neat and clean well served but little bit costly.

There food no teast quntity also very less

It's a small outlet of envy serving Hot meals and other items to the passengers at Central Station Chennai. I tried with Pongal and it was good with Sambar and Chutney. It was fresh. Even non veg items are available here with Kumbakonam filter Coffee. Prices are little high compared to the other Eateries in the station. Package is good and the place around clean. The service is very quick no waiting time. Overall it's good. Next time will try other items.

To not have food from this place is totally your call and I say take it, you won't regret it. I had chicken biriyani and got a paratha (really small in size) and chicken curry for take out .exactly one hour from having the biriyani (which tasted good BTW ) , I was down with food poisoning and never tried the packed food. It smelled bad though. As I was on a 15 hour long journey on a train, in the summer heat, it was immensely hard to keep anything down until I got home. I doubt the cleanliness of the water that is used for cooking in this place given the current situation in Chennai.

An infamous outlet in Chennai Central station known for its pathetic quality of food and service, for the price they claim. It is running as a monopoly here (JanSeva is inconsiderable), so the options are either to get out of the station at the earliest or afford to consume worthless food items.

Don't buy chicken biryani here.. It is not worth for amount they charge.. It is chicken curry mixed with normal rice.. If you love biryanis pls don't buy here

Good place to transit within the Chennai city. For better rest room facilities go to central metro station.. it's clean and neat.

I had food poisoning after I had bought porrota with chicken curry. I think it was old stock. Becareful while buying here especially at night.
