Empire Of Dimasa Kachari King - Featured Reviews (123)
A very isolated and "bare" place, containing ruins of Cachari King's empire; surrounding is wonderful, lush greenery around, and if weather is good, then the walk through the ruins gives one a feeling rarely, nay, never available in city life... Only cons of visiting this place is its isolated location, which can be troubling if any help is required
Great place for archeological and historical visit for students around Barak Valley
Khaspur is a place of archaeological significance and consists of interesting sites such as a small unfinished dwelling house, the Snan Mandir, the Singh Darwaza, the Temple of Ranachandi, the Baradwari, two small temples and the East Wall. The walls are beautifully carved but the temple is in ruins now. People who are interested to visit places of archaeological importance and ancient artifacts will like to visit Khaspur. All the sites are just ruins of the ancient kingdom. It is interesting to see these sites as it throws light on life and culture of kings in ancient days. Tourists who have a penchant for history or even those who take great interest in architecture will love the place.
Anterior surrounded by the Cool Natural vibes a wonderful place for spending time with family. Thanks Cachari King for giving this historic place. N.B- Overall the state Government need to more active to develop this historic place otherwise with time we lost such Places in future .
I had visited that place a few days ago.. It was my first time in this place. Basically this place is looks like jangol types. And there are there monument. All are made by burned bricks and using of chuna mati. You can can enter in this place through 2nd gate bcz 1st gate is always closed. A hug empty area, so if you visit there you can do photography, video graph also. Go there and ejoy the sunset. I have shared some of pic in below.. You can check it out...

The region of Khaspur was originally a part of the Tripura Kingdom, which was taken over by Chilarai in the 16th century. The region was ruled by a tributary ruler, Kamalnarayana, the brother of Chilarai. After the decline of Koch power, Khaspur became independent. In the middle of the 18th century, the last of the Koch rulers died without an heir and the control of the kingdom went to the ruler of the Dimasa Kachari Kingdom as dowry. After the merger, the capital of the Dimasa Kachari Kingdom moved to Khaspur, near present-day Silchar. In the 18th-century, the Hailakandi region was annexed to the Kachari kingdom.
