Great place, please don't get into the waters during the monsoon or any rainy days. You are inviting death for sure. The view can be enjoyed from the road or book a home stay nearby to enjoy even more. There are huge boulders of rocks which definitely adds some age to the waterfall. This is one of the major waterfalls amongst this route.
Beautiful waterfall. Best time to visit is monsoon. Entry is restricted to waterfall. We can enjoy the view from the road ride itself.
One of the finest places to visit during a rainy day.Waterfall with a rush of crystal clear natural water.A enjoyable spot on the way to Vagamon.
We enjoyed bathing in the stream below. The home stay owner nearby also guided us well. It's a dangerous spot while raining and at night time due to unexpected heavy water flow from mountains. Always respect the local's instructions. Drink responsibly if you are doing so.
Pleasant little diversion on the way to Idukki Dam. However, Jan is probably not the best time of year to visit since the waterfall and stream had dried to a trickle. It must be way nicer during or after the rains.

It is belived that this cascade falls down just about 200 feet of height. Elappally wter falls to be found 40 Km away from Idukki.
This place is easily accessible. Elappally Falls is located 26 km from Thodupuzha on Moolamattom - Vagamon Route, 102 km away from Kottayam and 40 Km away from Idukki. Buses, both private and public along with taxis take tourists and visitors to the site.
It's one of the best location for camping and photography. We used to camp on the top of both hills on either sides. Very peaceful atmosphere and isolated from the town. Not safe for families and ladies, keep that in mind.
