It's a beautiful drive-in beach. The beach is very clean. The ticket lists down a couple of Dos and Don'ts. It's better to stick to the rules to avoid any untoward incidents.
Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beach (5.5 km length)[1] is a beach in the state of Kerala in southwestern India. It is located parallel to National Highway 66(formerly National Highway 17) between Thalassery and Kannur.[2] Muzhappilangad BeacMuzhappilangad Beach Show map of KeralaShow map of IndiaShow all LocationMuzhappilangad, Kannur, IndiaCoordinates11deg48'0''N 75deg27'0''ELength5.5 kmGeologyBeachPatrolled byLifeguardsHazard ratingLow Sunset at Muzhappilangad OverviewEdit This beach is the longest Drive-In Beach in Asia and is featured among the top 6 best beaches for driving in the world in BBC article for Autos.[3][4]Muzhappilangad is the only Asian beach featured in the list. Even though Goa has many beautiful beaches, it does not have a Drive-in beach. It is considered as the longest drive-in beach in Asia.[5] The beach festival is celebrated in the month of April and it is one of the important tourist attraction in the district of Kannur in Kerala. The youth also try many driving stunts in cars like drifting and wheeling in bikes as this is a paradise for driving along the shore. There is an unpaved road winding through coconutgroves leading to the beach. To get to this road, if you are driving from Tellicherry towards Kannur, take the left turn just before the first railway crossing you encounter after crossing the Moidu bridge. The beach is about 5 km long and curves in a wide area providing a good view of Kannur on the north. Local laws allow beachgoers to drive for a full 4 km directly on the sands of the beach. The beach is bordered by black rocks, which also protect it from the stronger currents of the ocean. These rocks provide habitat for Blue mussel, a delicious seafood. Beach attracts bird-watchers from far off places as hundreds of birds flock here during various seasons. Approximately 100-200 m south of the beach there is a private island called Dharmadam Island (Pacha Thuruthu in Malayalam, which translates to Green Island in English). It is possible to walk to the island during low tide from the nearby Dharmadam beach4

asia's largest drive in beach, which is of longest strech of drivable area. the beach has a very hard sand soil and it is easy to drive through the waves also. they will charge 40/- at the entrance. it is good if you ride in less speed speed and low gears. you can play in the sea as there is not much depth for the sea in this area.
The best place to have your drive skills spill out on shore sand.. Great place for morning walking, driving, relaxation and to spend some time with dear one

Muzhappilangad Beach is famous for being Kerala's only drive-in beach. At about 7km from Thalassery in Kannur, you have a 4 km stretch of sand that awaits you to simply drive along as you soak in the view of the beautiful Malabar Coast. Along the way, one gets to munch on delicacies from a number of shacks that offer authentic Malabar cuisine. It is often considered a swimmers paradise as the black rocks protect the beach from deep currents. This is a perfect way to relax and soak in this clean and well maintained beach. One can also partake in adventure sports like paragliding, parasailing and micro light flights along with water sports, power boating or a simple catamaran ride.
