I recommend that you go here early at 8 AM to meet the doctors. The process is sarkari and the Dr will not spend much time with you . Today when I visited one doctor saw 30 patients in 1 hour. Personalised attention is missing and lot of paper pushing is involved. Canteen and toilet at facility with parking for 2 wheelers and cars. Retired Armed Forces personnel till 2002 could avail medical facilities only for specific high cost surgery/treatment for a limited number of diseases covered under the Army Group Insurance(Medical Branch Scheme) (AGI(MBS)) and Armed Forces Group Insurance Scheme(Management Information System) (AFGIS (MIS)) schemes. These medicare schemes could provide some relief to the ESM, but it was not a comprehensive scheme as compared to and available for other Central Government Employees. Therefore, the requirement was felt of establishing a medicare system which could provide quality medicare to the retirees of the Armed Forces. Conceptually the ECHS is to be managed through the existing infrastructure of the Armed Forces in order to minimise the administrative expenditure. The existing infrastructure includes command and control structure, spare capacity of Service Medical facilities (Hospitals and MI Rooms), procurement organisations for medical and non medical equipment, defence land and buildings etc.

People who visit ECHS are between the age of 40 to 90 with their assisting family members. I being in a family of Three Generations in Indian Armed Forces has quite a good experience of visiting more than 10 Polyclinics of ECHS across India. After Bihar, Ahmedabad has given the most poor experience to me. 1. In between 30 days, I visited the ECHS Ahmedabad Polyclinic thrice. Found the Reception, everytime, vacant. On my first day I had a lot of questions everytime I was finishing a task, and for an answer I went to the reception and every turn, I had to locate the receptionist wandering around for my assistance. Finding out the same nature of no being on the place, on my 3rd day I had to ask the staff, "Who is supposed to be here on the reception?" Uncomfortable and Unhappy on my enquiry, the man harshly told his name - Abhi, Dr. Abhi - Physiotherapy. Go do whatever you want with my name. 2. The washrooms and the water cooler area were very dirty and I noticed a guy bathing right next to dispensary with the water cooler's water. I wish someone managing this looks to my review and take it as a constructive criticism.

Dr prescribed medicine for local purchase to medical store, when I gave proscription then they ask me to make Xerox of this priscription, this is very pethetic for senior citizen, because he has to travel total 5-6 km for making Xerox... It is better they should charge double money for Xerox, but should not ask to patients to make Xerox..

It is one of the most reputed consultancy for Ex Army employees. The doctors are trained and have an experience of higher than 10 years. Super staff

Only and only one ECHS polyclinic of Ahmedabad area. Recently renovated and air conditioned waiting hall is opened for beneficiaries.

Please I request medical staff to explain the patient about their medicine intake. The abbreviation given in that is unable to understand.

Such a pathetic attitude of the staff there. If this is how they treat armymen, shame on these employees.
