Waiting period for taking referal is too long even after writing from specialist from base hospital. I spent 4 hrs for taking referal from ECHS. In the second referal I was given reg no. at about 2:46. But at 4 pm I was told that u came tomorrow. Abhi to sab bandh ho gaya h.

Army ECHS facility is one of the greatest steps taken ahead for the welfare of defence veterans so as to lead a healthy life. ECHS card is made along with a diary for regular entry and the treatment is very effective due to presence of highly qualified doctors in there who are very kind towards old age people and their families.
It was Saturday yet there was no rush and there were several facilities for veteran to make their visit comfortable. Yes it's painful to be be in same que with regular patient for OPD , waiting for atleast 2-3hrs and you get at best Paracetamol and Pantop to eat. We veterans have paid for the ECHS service from our pocket ... not to waste our whole day at Base Hospital
Nobody is there to take the call. It has miles to go to achieve professional standards.
