Khusru (1587-1622 C.E.) was the eldest son of Jahangir and queen Shah Beghum. He was well educated and popular for his amicable manners and blameless public character, In 1605 C.E. when Akbar lay seriously ill. Khusru's partisans, led by his father-in-law, Mirza Aziz Koka and his uncle Raja Man Singh of Amber made strenuous efforts to put him on throne. But at last, Akbar on his death-bed nominated Salim as his successor After the death of Akbar, Salim ascended the throne and assumed the title of Jahangir A few months after Jahangir's accession, Khusru rose in rebellion and was completely defeated by Jahangir, Khusru was captured and blinded. He died in confinement in 1622 CE. when he was under custody of his brother Khurram, the future Shan Jahan. Khusru was buried in Khusru Bagh near the mausoleum of his mother. The tomb of Khusru was probably built by Khusru's sister Sultan Nisar Begum. it is a two- storeyed building with arched walls surmounted by a large lemispherical dome on an octagonal drum, with small pavilion at the corners. The interior consists of single room, wall painted with a design of floral patterns, cypresses, etc On the dome, there's a painted nedallion with star and geometric palterns, similar to the ones in the contemporary tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulab Agra.

Khusro Bagh is a large historical garden, in which tombs of Prince Khusro, the eldest son of Emperor Jahangir and Sultan Begum are located. The three sandstone mausoleums within this walled garden, represent an exquisite example of Mughal architecture. The design of its main entrance, the surrounding gardens and the three-tier tomb of Sultan Begum has been attributed to Aqa Reza, Jahangir's principal court artist. The tomb has a large chhatri that surmounts the plinth and inscriptions that adorn her tomb. Next to the Begum's tomb is the tomb of Khusrau's sister, Nithar. However Nithar's mausoleum is empty and it does not contain her tomb within it. Architecturally, this is the most elaborate of the three. It lies on an elevated platform and is adorned with panels depicting the scalloped arch motif. Within the plinth are rooms, whose ceilings have been elaborately painted with stars in concentric circles. The central room has on its walls floral decorations depicting Persian cypresses, wine vessels, flowers and plants. The tomb of Khusro is the last of the three tombs. Khusro was first imprisoned within the garden after he rebelled against his father Jahangir. He was killed in an attempt to escape on the orders of Khusro's brother and Jahangir's third son Khurram, who later became the Emperor Shah Jahan.

Khusro Bagh is a protected monument near the main railway junction. Prince Khusro's tomb is a magnificent specimen of Mughal architecture located in this garden. Prince Khusro was born in Lahore in 1587 AD and died in Burhanpur in 1622 AD and burial in Allahabad. He was the eldest son of the Mughal emperor Jahangir, and he was the dear grandson of his grandfather Emperor Akbar. But a rebellion against his father resulted in a miserable life. The mausoleum was designed by Jahangir's beloved artist Aqa Raza and it was probably constructed by Nisar Begum, sister of Prince Khusro. It's a magnificent protected monument under the Archaeological Survey of India. This monument with arcaded walls is two storeyed. The roof of which is covered with a huge dome based on an octagonal drum and corners are having decorated stone canopies. The entire building is built on a high pitched platform. Decorative works also appear on the edge of the platform and on vertical stone cladding. Stone pillars and decorated pillar capitals and archways are supporting the roof and dome. All the four corners are having staircases and only one main chamber under the dome. Staircases and main chamber entry is restricted. There is no entry fee and nearest attractions are three other tombs, Garden itself and Guava Garden. It's a popular picnic spot and leisure park. It's a major attraction among the history buffs and architecture lovers.
