Dujod Gate - Historical landmark in Sikar - Sikar, India

It's part of one of the busy route in sikar. Although it's also the part of four main gates around the clocktower. If I tell about my thought being a sikarian we are deeply connected to every site of our city . Always love to visit

One of the 7 ancient doorways to enter the city now the city is spread a lot these gigantic doors serves no purpose but to remind the proud history of the city. The nearby attractions/landmarks from this gate are clocktower/ Ghantaghar and Kalyan Ji ka mandir. This place is mostly struck with high traffic.

Nice place but not a good interior and design

Since ancient times, the capital city of Sikar is surrounded by high walls. In which there are seven doors. These seven gates are Bawri Gate, Fatehpuri Gate, Nani Gate, Surajpol Gate, Dujod Gate Old, Dujod Gate New, and Chandpol Gate.

This is the one of the most busiest way of Sikar

This gate is named after the village Dujod located in the south of Sikar. Hence named after the village name. Presently this gate is almost in the middle of the modern city. Various shops are here on road sides and also residential premises in streets. There are 4 gates 1. Suraj pol 2.Chand pol 3.Fatehpuri gate 4. Dujod gate These are in each direction of the old city 'Parkota'. Parkota is a hindi word which literally means 'A high and thik wall around the city to protect from attacks of enemies'. 1. The 'Suraj pol' gate opens in the east facing rising Sun(Suraj), hence it is named Suraj pol. 2.'Chand pol gate opens in the west facing the rising Moon(Chand), hence it is named Chand pol. 3. Fatehpuri gate, it opens up towards Fatehpur town located in the north of the city hence named after the town's name. 4. Dujod gate(already described). In the middle where all four roads from the gates join has a clock tower called 'Ghanta Ghar' There are two other gates Nani gate and Bawadi gate. Nani gate opens towards village Nani in the west of the city hence named after it, whereas Bawadi gate opens towards a Bawadi (Step well to store the rain water) in the city in the east.
