Dudh Pukur - Lake in Tarkeshwar - Hooghly, India

One of the holy ponds of Tarakeswar located adjacent to the Taraknath's (Lord Shiva) Temple, and a famous pilgrimage of West Bengal

The pandits in this temple are too greedy for money. They always try to loot the people who come here for offer puja. We came from far distance to visit but couldn't even visit I side the temple due to huge rush. Also due to the greedy nature of the pujaris and commission system of the prasad seller and pandits my personal experience was worst here.

Water cleaness is ok, but not hygienic, there's local shopkeeper wash their plates in HOLY POND , it's HORRIBLE nd UNACCEPTABLE, IT'S SHOWING DISRESPECT TOWARDS SHIRIN ( TEMPLE ), Personally I don't like it ,

Try to avoid swimming. Except for religious belief there is no reason to swim.

Avarage because it's a temple side so in a day huge amount of people's visit their and maximum of their bath in this pond , so not so clean

Tarakeswer is my nearest town from my village Parambua. Where the God Shiva Temple is built is very old. And there is a pond called Dudh Pukur. Tarakeshwar, the city of love

It is a religious place and the mind calms down when you visit it.
