Dronagiri fort is situated near Uran town.. This trek is very beautiful during Monsoon.. I visited in Month of August this time the trek was so greenish and beautifull.. in the way to fort we found some very beautiful flower also.. Starting point is Hanuman temple .. We started our trek with blessing of Bajarang bali.. The level of this trek is moderate , it's not so easy and not so hard.. it take one hour to go on top and back .. For some distance trek is 50 degree ... Here we can't go with children .. it's risky to take children.. Dronagiri fort is in ruins condition .. Bhagwa flag gives energy and tank was also there .. one watch tower is there to monitor ONGC plant by CISF brave hearts .. you carry your own water bottle and eatables for refreshment you will not get anything on the way.. This trek is free of coast, no ticket is required to visit. One more thing I want to request visitors please do not spoil this place, carry your garbage own , don't throw it here and there..
It's a small trek. Approx 20 min.very clean fort. very nice for beginners.nice view of uran city. Some local people are daily up down for exercise and also taking care of fort enjoying some good moments.
It is a simple trek which would take around 30 minutes to ascend and 20 minutes to descend of your are intermediate level hiker. Gradient if high at some places but duration is not lengthy.
A part of Uran's history that everyone can enjoy. You can choose from two trails 1. Easy- takes longer to get to the top but safe. The trail is well maintained with directions marked. 2. Tough - Very steep set of rocks to climb. A bit unsafe The climb takes around 30mins. The view on top is surreal.
It's good hike up, but a couple of issues 1. You are not allowed to take photographs due to closeness to restricted government areas 2. The difficult path is not recommended due to slippery stones 3. The easy path has a notice close to the half way mark (I guess) saying it's restricted area. Wish it was at the base. I had hiked up with a bag full of camera and lenses. Both the things I couldn't do as desired, so quietly walked down
An old Portuguese church, a broken entrance from the Maratha period having a temple, and another temple deep in the jungle. Very close to nature while being close to the city and a welcome break from city life. Great view of the sea as well!
The view from both sides is amazing!!!!! I'd totally recommend this climb
Nice and easy one day trek to Dronagiri, I went there on cycle; route is well marked. Explored almost all points on the fort including the two big cisterns beyond Vetaldev temple and also found a new one.
