I am writing about Dr Wasim Phoplunkar ( Radiation Oncologist , Apollo Hospitals , Belapur, New Mumbai ) to express my deepest gratitude for the exceptional care and treatment . I was diagnosed by CA Tongue , after going through my chemotherapy I have visited to Dr Wasim.Thanks to Dr Wasim expertise and dedication, I have made a complete recovery .

Dr. Wasim is one of the most knowledgeable and kindest doctors you can ever come across. He is highly aware and knowledgeable on various types of cancer as well as new avenues of treatment for it and would guide you correctly for the course of treatment. When we are getting a treatment under Dr. Wasim, we were rest assured that we were in safe hands. His patience and understanding the pain of patients is commendable and he is the best radiation oncologist in the city. He is highly empathetic and a positive person and he motivated us to keep going strong with his kind words. Talking to him makes us feel at ease and I would highly recommend consulting him at all times.

Being from the medical profession, having met doctors professionally and personally, Dr Wasim is one a kind, there really is a reason for this amazing reviews about him. Dr. Wasim is incredible.. He's very understanding and listens to your concerns.He takes time with the patient to help them with their health issues! Not only has he taken great care of my health, but also he is lovely to speak with at every appointment. I had initial symptoms in the year 2015 where I had seizures where I would get unconscious, then my family started with treatment initially assumptions were for feet but early when the first MRI was done it was assumed to be a blood clot near brain. So quickly acting my family started to enquire more about it and started to get proper guidance so I moved to Mumbai for further treatment where I got to know about DR Adil Chagla where he explained what the blood clot was as it was brain tumor and he gave me confidence and how the treatment will proceed. At first, I was afraid and was having a tuff time dealing as it all happened in short period of time and on top of that I was married for just 3 months, but as I was given hope by DR Adil Chagla my family which was standing strong behind me then I went in for surgery which was conducted in 2015 September 21st. This was just the half battle won, for the later procedures DR Adil Chagla referred me to DR Wasim for radiation therapy which would be 30 session and to which I was scared so upon meeting DR Wasim Sir he also helped me boost my confidence and explained how this will help in fighting the other half battle which starts now, he was always super helpful and many a time explained me like an elder brother, then Dr Wasim sir referred me to Dr Ashish Bakshi who then guided me with further treatment he started with temozolomide for 2 years. Things to remember while fighting cancer. 1. Stay calm and stay positive Its not easy to but the best thing which will help to stay focused is stay calm, people around you care for you, and they will show concern. 2. Listen to your Doctors Often the treatment is long but never get tired as it is the part of the process which in turn will help you to become strong. Your Doctors know what you are suffering from and will always give the best advice. Follow their advise like a straight path and there should be no deviation In my case the team of Doctors guided and helped me boost my morale and helped me to stand quickly Dr Adil Chagla gave me confidence for my surgery Dr Wasim helped me in every possible way as I was afraid and worried for the radiation therapy till date he is helping me, due to him I found my path again to move in a positive way. Dr Asish Bakshi also till date he check my reports and provides me guidance 3. Follow ups and medication Always keep a track of your medication keep your follow up on time When my follow up started I was advised to follow up every 6 months and till date I am following the same routine. 4. Don't Hurry There may be time where you would feel all is good and can tackle any situation or work, incase if you are advised to wait and rest go for it, I can tell you from my experience I was asked to rest and once I was given green signal then only I started to work and I am able to work long shifts as well Concluding I would like to say today I am able to follow my daily life schedules for over 8years as normal which is only possible due to great guidance from my Doctors who have always helped me and guided and also my family to keep a positive approach.
