For the past few years I woke up daily with a headache , popped a painkiller (or 2) and went about my day. Everyday I would explain it away as my stress, maybe bad sleep quality, maybe my sugar levels are fluctuating . I even started using herbal supplements to improve my sleep quality. My husband told me it could be my bite and I should visit Dr Ashwin's TMD clinic. With this seed in my brain I started getting more aware of the strain on my jaws and temples. Yet I chose to rather sleep with my teeth consciously unclenched . It was foolish but I did not want to go to Dr Ashwin because my tooth sensitivity made me very vary of the dentist's drill. I am still kicking myself for unnecessarily prolonging my suffering. When a doctor follows a systematic approach it's immediately a confidence boost for the patient coz you realise its not his first rodeo. He showed me graphs n scans pinpointing exactly where the strenuous bites are happening. Explained the treatment plan, and put me at ease about my sensitivity. He also has very kind and friendly staff. He gave me a temp bite corrector to confirm if my headaches really were due to my aggressive jaw clenching bites. I saw immediate relief. Post that he did the permanent bite corrections and Tens sessions. I have been headache free ever since. I do not wake up frustrated already. Which vastly improved my attitude throughout the day. My sensitivity is gone. Also I am beginning to see a little bit of a jawline . I hope there is more awareness for this. When people seek treatment for migraine, bite issues must be part of the possible causes to investigate. So to conclude , I am fixed now. Thank you :-)

I have been suffering from a problem which was quite unusual. My ability to focus during driving, sudden head movements which caused disoriented feeling etc was my problems. Consulted many doctors in and around Kozhikode. Lot of ENT tests, scans etc. I discussed this with Dr. Ashwin who is also my dentist during a dental appointment. He suggested a treatment and I was ready to take up any available treatment at that time. I did have some doubts initially. But to my amazement my problems started fading away. From living with excruciating neck pain for 20 odd years to now being completely rid of it, I have started to believe that 'miracles do happen'! The pain was such that it would start at my neck and radiate to the top of my head. I have been to countless orthos but noone was able to fig out the root cause. Dr Ashwin promptly diagnosed the problem to be a misaligned jaw and prescribed an Orthotic which I have been using for the last 3 months. My concept of dental care was extraction and filling which was completely changed after getting treatment from here: theres a big development going in TM diseases which many of us are not aware; fortunately I landed up here after which my real problem was diagnosed and addressed properly. I feel this sort of expertism should be there in most of the districts so that patients who need proper management can be handled properly.
