Grt dolphin view and seagull birds. We have OTDC ride where rupees 250 per head boat charges. While personal booking require 4000-5000 and usually they make fools. And that specifically by car driver hired from puri. Better to stick with OTDC
Nature itself is beautiful. Greedy, rude boatmen in dilapidated boats are a hazard. Our boatman stole the feed we had bought for the birds and threw his empty tea cup into the water.
Definitely u will see the dolphins here.....u have to go through the boats provided at the lake tower...the baots charge around 1500 for a 3 to 4 hrs...they will take to dolphins and 2 to 3 islands and mini kalijae temple also....this is the kind of place where u will witness natural dolphins roaming in the lake water .the dolphins will appear near the boat if u r lucky....but definitely u will see the dolphins when u go there...nice entertain ment there.the boat ride is amazing. If u give an extra 200 ruppes to the boat rider he will ride for extra 1 hr and give u an amazing views dolphins .there is a bird island also..u can visit that in d way to dolphis
Best place for Fun for friends and families. Traveling Tips: If you a Puri tourist, you can reach here (Saptada) by 1. By Orissa Tourism busses 2. Private Tourist busses at Puri Private bustand Keep in mind all these buses start at 7AM post this there won't be buses to Saptada. 3. Cabs they charge you Rs1400 to Saptada Boating and nearby places. 4. Auto: They charge you around Rs400-600, you even enjoy the nature, cool winds, and it's safe as there are no heavy vehicles on this road. 5. You can book a Private Bus from Tourist Shops at Puri beaches. They charge ~Rs300 for AC bus and nearby places 1hour of Dolphin watch costs you Rs900/Boat, max 8 people of your family friends are allowed to board on one boat. Note: No Sharing of other people allowed as per their rules. Be aware of privately owned boating centers, some might charge you ridiculously 1Hr: Rs4K. There is another boating center 8km away from this better avoid it. Cab/Auto's might intentionally take it to you there to reduce distance or for commissions, be cautious. Life jackets are available for each and every passenger. Please wear it before boarding. Please confirm it while booking the ticket. If not go to the other booking center. You can see the couple of Dolphins at the lake it's really good experience. There is a Fish restaurant inside the lakes if you are interested ask the boat driver. Tips are from Self Experience. Prices might varies from time to time.
Takes a lot of patience to spot the dolphins. You are taken deep into the lake. At times if you are lucky enough 2 dolphins can be spotted at a time. Definitely a must visit place.
You have to go there by boat from Satapada. Dolphins are there but you have to spend some long time. During your journey to dolphin zone small islands are there where red crabs can be seen. There people sell stones from snail. In dolphin zone no food supply or bathroom facility available so you have to carry food.
Enjoyed the boat ride as well lucky enough to see dolphins. It was a great boat ride. And believe me it's not so costly only you need to book your chilka visit with OTDC. I have visited today it costs me only 520(INR) for traveling from Puri and cost for 2hr boat ride. And not the least, sea mouth beach is absolutely beautiful. Hope you will enjoy next.
The dolphin point at Satapada is a very popular tourist spot on the Chilka lake. The boats roam here and there are slight chances that river dolphins appear here in this position, jump out and give a glimpse to the tourists. Although it takes luck for someone to spot a dolphin perfectly.
