Dodhia Haveli - Hotel in Ahmedabad - Ahmadabad, India

The electricity was on and off for about 16 hours of our stay. The total darkness at night time was terrible for using bathroom and stairs. Without electricity there was a grave danger of hurting ourselves considering very steep staircase and old structure of bathroom with uneven floor. A candles at night posed a danger of fire so we could not use them and that's all the hotel staff were able to provide instead of electricity. The other issue was hotel was located on extremely narrow and dirty streets and even our car was not able to reach to the hotel. Our luggage was carried in small three wheeler to the location. There were total two rooms that they can rent unlike the impression given as big specious hotel. Our over all impression was that staff was sincere and good but was not supported by owners and problems were not heard or resolved by owners.

Google location for this place is incorrect. Locals are not helpful and they mock people who ask them directions. It's located next to Goswami Haveli. Entire area is crippled by traffic and mannerless people.

Dodhia Haveli is a picturesque, artistically furnished heritage house, with two suites, all fashioned to provide anybody staying there with the holistic experience of Ahmedabad's traditional culture. It is a go back in time experience. This wooden heritage house with carved facade is located in the heart of Ahmedabad's rich old city.

It is a temple very good temple I find peace sitting over there on a bench in evening

It is an old building and can feel the past days of Ahemdabad what we studied in history.
