Like the place. There is no concrete pedestrian but you may enjoy the raw nature
I visited this place on July 2023, There was no water. :( I've travelled 15kms to reach here. Hope there will be water next time when I reach there
I went looking for a trail to take my dog for a long walk and stumbled upon this place. While it's technically supposed to be a loop trail, one side is fully blocked with cut down trees. So start from the right, you'll walk along the lake and then proceed all the way into a small forest section where my dog had some good off leash fun and went swimming. Come back the same way Some parts of the trail and the lake unfortunately is littered with beer bottles and plastic and while this is supposed to be a planned development area, work seems to have stopped and there is no maintenance. Great for sunrise/sunset picnics but watch out for snakes and other insects
Beautiful lake which is unexplored. More than 120acres and got the approval for development by 2021.
Doddagubbi seems to be a little known but beautiful lake. Seems to be an old lake, an inscription stone at the end of lake bund mentions 1891. The lake bund is pretty long and is accessible from either side. The place is very scenic and green. Water quality also looks pretty good. Birds, butterflies and Dragonflies are common here. Baya weaver has nests around the lake and is easy to spot. Other birds like Brahminy Kites, Black Kites and Cormorants can also be spotted. Noteworthy is 2 large very old Tamarind trees(hope the heavy machines used for renovation doesn't harm these trees) Hardly anyone in the lake except some grazing cows, Recommend to visit for sunsets and sunrise.
After a good rain in November and December, lake is finally filled with water otherwise it was a barren land. People are coming here for sunset and fishing.
10-20% water left though lake is bigger in size. It is secluded and mostly saw people doing business in morning without any proper facilities.
Enjoyed the calmness of nature walking beside the lake . Recommend to visit only during the day time as it's an isolated area.
