It was absolutely mesmerizing experience. Visited the place after 2 years and to my surprise, it has been entirely resurrected. I had lost hope during last visit. But now the scene is much different. Really appreciate the efforts to make it more lively. Lots of monkeys -- keep eatables hidden away and don't bring loose small bags.

The big banyan tree is a nice place to spend your late afternoons with your family. Though the area is spread across in acres but they have put boundaries and closed most of the areas. You can not see the entire place, which I am sure is very beautiful. Lots of monkey, so be careful with your stuff. And don't eat food in front of them they can come and snatch. Place is really majestic its sad that they have closed partially. The banyan tree is massive it has a main stem, and from it branches, other stems fall, rooting into the ground. The environment is cool because of this beautiful tree spreading across 3 acres and gives the much sought-after relief from the scorching heat. The area is well fenced, and there is a small temple in the middle. There are benches on which you can sit and relax.

A very Oldest Big banyan tree only. Clean maintenance has been done and I don't know why they are restricted to allow all the sides even paths are made and entry at 10am. Might be another time that may give access to all the places.. You'll see near the circle itself.

It's a very old tree and very big. Good place to hang out and rest for an hour or so. There are benches to sit and relax. The place is clean and there are some shops outside for tea and other things. Don't expect too much and you would like the place. Entry is free and no parking charges either. There were no specific timings mentioned.

Having lived in Bangalore all my life, I have heard some magnificent stories about the Big Banyan Tree. However, when I finally made the drive, it was disappointing to see the dire state of the tree. It looked caged, old and dying. It's the indifference of us humans that have once again managed to kill the beauty of nature .. sad. What survives today are the last of the few remaining roots. But having said that, it's still worth a weekend drive, around 40 km from the city center. The other highlights of the place are the generations of monkeys living in the tree. We encountered a few huge bully monkeys and some tiny tots. Be careful and maintain distance, they are not that friendly. The place is well maintained, entrance was free and walkable parking space.

Word itself says.. a very big banyana tree, maintained by horticulture department. The trunks are wide spread.. beautiful shade and picturesque, since 400yrs. Be aware of monkeys, they only come for food, take care of your belongings. There is a small Muneshwara temple inside. Parking on road side. Can buy some snacks from nearby shops.

Very nice for nature lovers. Really great to see the tree which has almost 1300 branches and out of that 800 branches touching ground and growing again. You can spend some 1 hour sitting and looking at greenery. Photos can be taken which are in turn elevated by the greenery Rest rooms are not available, not many food options nearby. Parking space is ample.

400 yr old majestic banyan tree is a sight to behold. While the area is designed well to sit and rest for a while, the tree is losing its lustre due to pollution. Also the main stem was destroyed and just the roots remain. Yet a nice place to just drop by. Also there are many nurseries en route where you can stroll and enjoy rare plants. The rates are also very affordable.
