A hot destination among biryani lovers, Dindigul Thalappakatti has made quite a reputation for itself, thanks to its authentic flavors that have remained consistent over the years. Their Mutton Biryani and Thalapakatti Biryani are a must try. The Nattu Koli Idicha Varuval, shredded and fried jungle fowl, was spiced with fresh pepper and flavored with a host of freshly ground spices. The meat was well cooked and the spicy notes hit the spot. We paired the dish with the Moru Morupu Parotha -- a crispy and flaky roti that worked well with the chicken. The Kuchi Mutton, lamb chops, on the other hand, proved to be generic though the meat was well cooked and nicely spiced.
Food quality is not upto the mark / standards. For Thalappakatti special chicken biryani , they gave me Normal biryani rice along with Chicken pakodi pieces ( 6 small small pieces ) . Felt like it is road side biryani. Only thing I like there is Chilli Panneer.
Nestled in the heart of Porur, Chennai, Dindigul Thalappakatti restaurant is a culinary haven that truly captivates the senses. As an avid food enthusiast, my recent dining experience at this establishment left an indelible mark on my taste buds. The restaurant's ambiance strikes a perfect balance between modernity and tradition. Warm, earthy tones and comfortable seating create an inviting atmosphere, setting the stage for a memorable meal. The attentive and courteous staff added to the overall positive impression, ensuring a pleasant dining experience from start to finish. Dindigul Thalappakatti is synonymous with its legendary biryanis, and rightly so. The aroma that wafts from their kitchen is simply tantalizing. I had the pleasure of savoring their Mutton Biryani, and it was a revelation. The fragrant basmati rice, perfectly cooked mutton pieces, and a symphony of spices came together in a harmonious dance of flavors. Each spoonful was a delightful journey, and I found myself relishing every bite. The menu boasts a variety of other delectable options as well. I personally liked Black Pepper Chicken, Mutton Milagu Soup, Seared Fish and Chicken 65. The Chettinad Chicken Curry was a standout, with its rich and robust sauce that beautifully complemented the tender chicken.
Not very much impressive as older times. We prefer to have authentic south india - particularly Tamilnadu based taste. But most workers are north indian labors who may not have this flaour/authenticity. I can see a north indian guy serving/preparing food with left hand. Also, I went there to pick my food directly to save time. But I'm made to wait for more time due to communication issue (happened in mid 2022). We mainly want to see our authentic specialty but that is missing. Even the employee attendance has hindi instruction to handle a considerable amount of workers. It's not a crime, but we visit this place for it's own authentic cuisine in mind.
Taste is too good but peri peri chicken taste I don't like personally and service (Aakash) is too good. Not sure about other dishes
Worst experience from this place ,Order food via zamoto (3 biryani, kadai chicken, barbeque chicken half) ,I didn't receive barbeque chicken and sides for biryani in my order and taste was not satisfied as compared to my previous experience and kadai chicken was worst ever.they simply put up words I have send ,one of worst experience from this place bad response from both restaurant and zamoto patner.lost my money for the missing item and order almost 90mins to reach out totally worst branch .I tired to contact the restaurant number and it's switch off.
The chicken 65 legendary biriyani was yum! Enjoyed the Madhurai jigarthanda even more.
Excellent taste and bbq must try !! Their mayonnaise is the best quality
