We faced power outage (fuse blow out) as soon as we switched on, as well as intermittent power outages in the night.
When we went for dinner, we were welcomed by a drunk manager, who wanted gifts from us.
Overall it was an experience I would not like to repeat.
Digboi Tourist Lodge is a very Decent place to stay. Hotel staff is very polite and humble. Food is amazing, very tasty without any spices. I recommend this hotel to stay.
In Google Maps, it is shown as permanently closed. I don't know about "permanently closed" but there is a kind if caretaker who seems to be the all-in-one here who also seems to think he is the king of this rundown tiny kingdom.
The location is good if you are staying in Digboi itself but 21 km from Dehing Patkai National Park. There ate other hotels nearer to Dehing Patkai.
The buildings are an agglomeration of three main guest buildings with a dirty kitchen and other corrugated sheds. The entry for the place is through a narrow dirt road.
The rooms are okay with guests being charged Rs.1500 with an extra Rs.500 for the driver's bed. The becomes act as bedsheets which do not seem to have been washed.
My recommendation: ATDC should raze all the sheds and conglomerate the guest rooms and into one with combined kitchen, dining room and reception.
Excellent service and hospitality ,very good experience
