I visited the Devarakonda historic fort, and it was an incredible experience! The architecture and the rich history behind this fort are truly awe-inspiring. The well-preserved walls, turrets, and artifacts transported me back in time. The scenic views from the fort were breathtaking, and it's a perfect spot for photographers. I highly recommend exploring this fort to appreciate its cultural significance and the stunning vistas it offers.
A vast fort with a lot of fortification can still be explored. The lakes inside and at the top of the hill near the temple are mesmerizing.
Magnificent fort built by the rulers of Recherla Velama Dynasty during 13th Century AD, which is known for brilliant architecture is in ruins, but the grand entrance and ramparts are still intact even after 7 centuries. Sri Rama and Shiva temples are located in the premises of the fort and the lake which contained water year long can be seen on the hill. Surrounded by series of 7 hills with picturesque views of Devarakonda town and this is a favourite spot for trekking
Beautiful fort lying in ruins of past glory , badly maintained by the govt . But worth a trek to the top . Go around early mornings or evenings for sunrise or sunset view also
* 27 September 2020 A beautiful historical place which the new generation is ignoring to preserve which were our great history amidst the woods n mountains. I wonder why can't our government preserve and highlight all these our own historical greatness, and show it to the world that we have our history. * Visiting buildings parks and museum are common with same format in every one own city or state, but visiting our such historical place is a thrill which make us feel that we a part of hat existence. Dear travellers do travel to the unknown within our own place. The route is also superb. 120 km from Hyderabad.
This fort is located in Devarkonda. Local autos take us to the foot the hill. And from there one has to go through stairs. Although the stairs are made of rock and are almost devastated, one should be careful. And after reaching a certain point there won't be any stairs and one has to trek. There is pond on the top of the hill, with lotus plants and two temples. And historical walls and constructions. One must carry water and something to eat. And it's too windy on the top hence should be careful of that.
Where?: Devarakonda village, Nalgonda district, Telangana State. Cost?: Free for all, any one can enter the fort without taking any prior permission. When to visit?: If you visit the Fort in the morning time it is more comfortable. The reason is, the Fort is erected in large area. It simply takes 1-2 hours to cover all the corners for youngsters and for aged persons 4 hours minimum. No Fort guardian was available. Hence it is advisable to visit the Fort with minimum 4-5 members for sake of your security. Steps facility is available so no trouble have to face while climbing. My Experience: It's really awful monument in Nalgonda region. surely You will have nice experience.
It's very well nice. When i am enterd to that i feel like . I went to a past. I am thinking when was i born in olden days. Although it's a best place to visit.
