Lush greenery surrounds the premises. The temple,if legends are to be believed,is around 500-year-old. The atmosphere is placid and soothing. The temple houses no idol of the Goddess, but just a wooden structure or photo frame(?),draped in Banarasi Sari. There are no shops in the vicinity that sell the puja commodities, such as flowers and sweets. The Siva temples in the temple complex are not well-maintained at all. Those are the reasons why I chose to deduct one star, from the rating. The temple can be reached from Guptipara station,by boarding a Toto, after exiting through the number one platform side. My experience was pretty satisfactory here, the priest conducted my puja very sincerely, and the system of offering the same is very disciplined and organized too. I also liked how Ma Kali was being referred to as "Deshadhisthatri Desh Matrika", instead of just "Dakshina Kalika". It gets very crowded on Saturdays and Tuesdays, and one has to wait in a que, until one's turn comes. Far from the madding crowd, the temple indeed is a great place to experience tranquility.
Very famous and popular goddess Kali temple of Guptipara. People of Guptipara believe if you pray something from goddess Kali , she gives.
This is one of the most famous pious place in Guptipara. The specialty of this place is that the idol of the deity goddess Kali housed in this temple is seated on "Panchamundi Ashansa". (Pancha: Five; Mundi: Skull). This idol is the only one of its kind in the whole west bengal.
Wonderful Maa Kali temple in a very quite place. It is a serene and scenic place. You will get a total different feelings in front of Maa Kali 'Kathamo' (the fundamental structure of Maa Kali Deity). The kathamo is worshipped every day. An true place for a real devotee.

Hospitable host and delicious dishes. Menu is extensive and seasonal to a particularly high standard. Considering the quality, the price is reasonable. Highly recommended. It's a great experience. Will definitely be back again.
