Located in main road. Vehicle cab be parked in road side at free of cost. Side entrance is always open for public. Stair case and road is steep. So it will be difficult for old age people. For disable person it's difficult to reach top. Nice view point from top. Over all good. Maximum 1 hour is sufficient to spend in this location.

Sometimes an impulsive visit to a random destination turn out to be mesmerizing, and that's what happened with me when I just planned to visit this archeological site near Kaziranga as it was on my way to Majuli... A very unique piece of history and the art on the stones were breathtaking. It will take you back in the times telling the stories carved on the broken stones. A must visit destination if you like historical monuments and stonework.
Nice place. You will get a good feel while climbing the elevation. This is exactly located on the main road between Numaligarh and golaghat. You need to step up to the small mountain. Above there lot of archaeological sculpture we can see. It's just awesome. There is no entry fee, you have sufficient car parking space. Two way of approach is there, with steps and without steps. Both will be a different experience.
Located 5 km from Numaligarh, the Deoparbat Hill has drawn nature and history lovers with its ancient ruins that date back to the 8th and 9th centuries. According to legend, the hilltop used to be home to a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva that was left completely damaged after a major earthquake. Apart from numerous ancient relics and monuments, Deoparbat also offers majestic views of the nearby Kabi Anglong Hills and the lush green Numaligarh tea estate. Tourists can easily book taxis from the Kaziranga National Park, which lies 64 km away, to reach Deoparbat ruins, which are a treat for travellers from all walks of life.
Deopahar is an ancient archaeological site located in Numaligarh. The historical remains of the ancient temple and sculptures that were excavated from the top of the Deopahar hillock, represent the interconnection between the Aryan culture and local art. It is a protected archaeological park and has a site-museum. An English tea planter named Thomas Guardthei was the first to highlight the significance of the broken Shiva temple at Deopahar. The temple has a big ceiling slab engraved with a large lotus. The overall creative style and design of the building blocks strongly reflects influences of the later Gupta era.
