Disappointed given the hype about this hotel. Thought it was rather tired and in need of a make over. Room was huge but lacked any real character. Food wasn't particularly appealing and there was little choice.The evening meal was almost the same as lunch.
It was however absolutely wonderful eating on the roof top and the hotel looked absolutely beautiful lit up at night. This was the highlight of the stay. Surrounding area isn't appealing either so would not stay again or recommend to others

Superb hospitality, An ambiance that takes you back in time to a true merwari culture. The palace hosts all modern facilities yet beholds you to revive the rich heritage culture of Rajasthan.
Beautiful palace, now converted in heritage hotel... you can enjoy your stay in palace and try tasty food and drinks at palace restaurant... and palace is situated in middle of village so you can enjoy village market walk too.
It's an impressive building from the outside and we were extremely impressed with our room. It was a beautiful suite with a swinging chair, comfortable bed and an enormous bathroom. We enjoyed walking around the ramparts and views from the rooftop. It's easy to get lost as some guests did, needing help to find their rooms after dinner. We enjoyed a solo lunch in the dining room indoors. The food was made to order, hot and the dal makhani was especially delicious. After lunch we relaxed by the pool for an hour. Sadly we didn't have time to enjoy the spa or a massage, which were really good value, because we had a village Jeep safari. This was a great way to spend a few hours seeing local life and meeting local people. We also saw our first step well which was amazing! Sunset by the lake with chai masala and cookies will be a lovely memory. By the time we got back it was time for dinner. Unfortunately the venue had to be changed to the indoor dining room rather than the rooftop terrace. The meal was served buffet style which was a bit hit and miss as some dishes were warm and some on the too cool side. Breakfast was also included and set us up for the day. Overall we really enjoyed our stay!
Wonderful historic accomodation with a must do audio guide by the historian William Darlymple and the previous owner. Great informative history. The Jeep safari was fun. Rooms were very impressive and beautifully decorated. What stopped a 5 star rating was the food (club sandwich and breakfast wasn't really 5 star). Tables should be setup on the terrace to make the most of the surrounds. Pool wasn't clean, spas had no water and overall pool area needs a bit of love.

If you wish to feel like a king/ queen for a day, go stay at The Deogarh Palace.
Its situated near the market, just one step away so it was easy for us to go out for a walk easily .
The rooms are so so beautiful. They were actually rooms for the maharajas. The only thing was that they are all very far away from each other. So you have to walk a lot, and I mean a lot. Lots of stairs. By the end of the day my legs were aching actually.
The food is average. The breakfast, lunch and dinner spread is limited and the taste is above average.
Mosts foreigners were guests there
But on the whole a must visit place I would say.
It's beyond words. I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warm smiles and impeccable hospitality.

Fort is completely empty, you have to track a mile up ,the track is good but be careful..
Nice and quite place except the bats inside ... a good hiking place..
Entrance is completely hidden but on the road only just beside the left wall of the school
