Delhi Public School - Featured Reviews (325)
In the recent years (2019 and so), the school has greatly fallen the expectations of the students in several aspects. From Not having experienced faculty in emerging domains, to forced participation into activities. Irrespective of the child's overall development, they're being forced to excel academically. Not being allowed to choose their freedom in certain subjects/ activities. Even achievers in not-so-famous sport activities are treated like they're nothing. Moreover the worst thing I've noticed is the fake publicity stunts, where in reality the school isn't ideal in its internal working. Recent times have been really disappointing for us students.
The condition of senior wing is not upto the mark. The teachers (except a few) are not good enough and they don't understand the students. The physics faculty of senior wing is the worst. They don't deserve to teach kids. They don't care about whether the students are understanding the chapters or not. All they care about is to complete the syllabu as fast as they can. All the games period have been removed and the students are expected to study the whole day. Even the principal has no brain. I don't understand how can he be the principal of such a big school...??
As per the advertisement published on 14/03/23 on DPS ranipur haridwar i had applied for the post of (Part Time Coaches). I had submitted the Rs500 DD (Demand drafts) in favour of The Principal, DPS Ranipur Haridwar 06/03/2023. But i did not receive any call or mail for the interview. This is against the code of conduct for the eligible candidates. This is very shameful on behalf of such a big institute (DPS ranipur haridwar). I hope this will not happen in future with any applicant.
Allover school is kind of good but the pre primary and primary students are getting too much homework,I personally feel that the homework is actually for parents, not for students, the homework is more than the capacity of students...I'm totally dissatisfied..not any activities are done by teacher,is this only parents responsibility?
I love my school proud to be an dps paas out student
Teaching quality is not good in junior wing and senior wing, most of the teachers are not qualified and experienced .
I have visited DPS during my school days and I found the school to be very amazing. There are many facilities available here like horse riding, badminton and many others. For scholar activities there are maths Olympiad which I used to attend from my school. The co-curricular activities organised here like dramas sports meets were enjoyed by me very much. There is no lack of fineness in this school.
First, let me share that I am from the class of 1998, having joined this school in 1984. So, my review is based on my experience over the 14 years during the last century and things would surely be different now. Having been established in 1977, this was apparently the 13th DPS in India and abroad. I started with Prep. Junior and passed out at 12th. All these years, I was a mediocre. Of course, there were many overwhelming, good, bad and ugly times, but in hindsight I feel lucky for having studied here and the school has played a solid role in shaping me for whatever I am today. Keeping nostalgia aside, I honestly jot down my experience hereunder: Pros: - Reasonably high standards of education. - Education was always in English medium for all the subjects including sports, with exception to the subjects of Hindi, Sanskrit and hindi songs that were taught in the Music class. - Most of the faculty was dedicated. Let's say 90%. Some were exceptional and I hold them in high esteems. - Computer education was introduced as early as 1989(while I was in 4th standard) and became a subject in 6th standard. Well equipped lab too. - Decent sports activities. I have fond memories of many years and also the basket ball coaching during the afternoon during 9th and 10th standard. - Well equipped Biology, Chemistry and Physics labs. - High standards of discipline(and strictness). Honestly it's important and been ingrained, they are helping me today in meeting the global standards with ease. - Manners, ethics, being socially responsible, nationalism and secularism are some other vitals strongly going along today, making me a better human and a humble professional earning respect from around the world. Cons: - Life is a race. Yes, competition all through the school life. Fear of loosing would be one's sole motivation to excel. But how can all be #1? - Being a mediocre, I barely would get any opportunities because there were better performing students than me, so they'd get multiple opportunities which would further hone their skills and confidence. I and many more like me and the ones below would be left behind. - Some stereotyping, favoritism and prejudice would always prevail, so some students by default would get preference while others being rejected. - Sports activities were decent but as for the period was concerned, it was limited to only one period per week. Meaning, about 36 periods or say 20 hours per year. - No concrete measures would be taken on how to let the underperforming or mediocre students pick the pace. That said, the standards were fairly high and overall environment would lead to an all-in-all development of 'every' child. After having passed out from this school, over the years I realized where do we Depsites stand. We surely outstand. Thank you :-)
