De Alcazar calangute - Hotel in Calangute, Saligao - North Goa, India

My recent stay at De Alcatraz hotel was far from pleasant. There were several issues that left a lot to be desired. Firstly, beside the pool, there was a honey bee hive, which made it unsafe for kids to enjoy their time there. The lack of proper maintenance was evident throughout the pool area, with dead insects and hairs strewn about. The staff's behavior was disappointing. When we voiced our concerns, their response was dismissive and unhelpful, directing us to complain at the front desk without taking immediate action. Even a simple request for a towel by the pool was met with a refusal. Inside the room, we found broken bed lamps, which added to our disappointment. It seemed like the hotel's management was indifferent to the comfort and safety of its guests. To make matters worse, improvements were made only on the day of our checkout, as a sports party arrived and booked the entire hotel. This showed a lack of planning and consideration for existing guests. Overall, my experience at De Alcatraz hotel was marred by these issues, and I would advise others to consider alternative options for a more pleasant stay.

One of the bad experiences in Goa. First of all dont go for google/online pics, most of them are old and pics of opening days. Rooms are not up to the mark the way they are charging price, broken lamps, water seepage, dirty walls, cockroaches in the room. Few people even complained they found cockroach in their buffet. Swimming pool is somehow good thing, but not cleaned regularly. So hygiene is very much to look forward. Service people are humble and doing great from their side. "Only" recommended during your emergency stays if not getting any other place.

Horrible Place Rooms are pathetic water leakage problems, Full untidy walls, rust everywhere, lights were broken, swimming pool water was horrible slippery no change of water. Bad smell. Only people from room service were good in communication other than that no one was good. Receptionist doesn't seems to be perfect and hopeless behaviour. Charges according to hotel are false. Cockroaches in the room in food and drinks bad experience all together.

Pathetic experience with this property. This was the one after a long time in my online reservations which once again warned me not to trust every property photo and promised the offer on booking apps. When we reached the property on 7th September 2023 our expectations were shattered, starting with the location which was through very narrow streets and dirty surroundings. The building was not well maintained. Rooms were very congested, small with the smell of damp ceiling and walls. Bathroom and toilet are dirty unhygienic. When we asked at reception about difference in what we saw on website and what we are getting actually, the response of staff was rude and arrogant, she said it's our wish if we want to stay or not but they will not do anything about the shortcomings of property. So we decided to forget our advance payment which we had paid earlier and went in search of other property. My advice is not to fall into this trap as this property also changes its name on the website and app from time to time as when we booked it's name was "The Cliff Edge Calangute" and after a few days it shows as "De Alcazar Calangute." So my final verdict is this property is only there to Cheat us.

The place was just ok and I cannot say it's awesome. The only advantage is that, it's near to baga and calangute beaches. The cleanliness has to be taken care of as I found cockroaches. The bathroom has to nade a little better as there was a towel rack just above the commode which is not a good option for hygiene. The tea and food at room service was good. The free breakfast is just nonsense as the idli was like a stone and no good spread. So never have the free breakfast here as you will start your day bad. The staff was quite helpful.

Don't prefer this hotel, we stayed 4 days. Always there is water problem, Towels are not available in room, TV will not work in the room due to No recharge. Everyone will sit in the reception but no one is not responsible.

Very nice clean budget hotel in calangute. Though it is far from the actual beach and Restaurant. They maintain clean and tidy rooms. Calangute beach is around 20mins walk. They have rooftop swimming pool which was good. Overall a nice stay but location is but inside the main road.

Good Rooms, and very tasty breakfast. But the service at the reception was not that great. And also the location is a little interior. The swimming pool was very dirty and was not in any usable condition when asked, the reason provided was that it's monsoon . Which was very dissapointing
