Very nice place. Must visit if in Datia. Don't forget to go all the way up to the top floors. If you're lucky you might see some beautiful wall paintings.

A windy way through narrow roads, but I am glad we persevered to reach this wonderfully grand monument. Looming out of the ground, there is a lovely view of the town from the first of the balconies - quite a climb up large stone stairs. Opening out on to an inner courtyard several stories high, there are more steps for those with a head for heights - beware of the low balustrades. Well worth it, to see the symmetrical pillars and a close up of the little chattri domes.
The gem of Bundelas.. The narrow rustic road filled with cows and potholes doesn't make you ready to see the breathtaking magnificence of this palace. Hard to digest this 8floored palace was built but never lived. The yet there wall paintings, the meenakari work leaves you spellbound. It's easy to get lost if you are not with a guide or other travellers. So make sure you are not travelling here alone, as I was. It took me quite a long time to get out of here as all the doors looked the same leading to dead ends. Why will you visit? To see a palace which is not related to Rajputs or the Islam but equally grand. Why you should not? If Indian medievel history doesn't grab your attention, this is not for you. Especially with the infestations of bat family.
Good place to see full view of Datia and chatris are Marvel of architecture. Be careful of honey bees. This is an excellent place which needs renovation and protection by ASI. Top floors were closed upon our visit sighting danger to visiting personnel. Ticket charges were nominal only.
This is a very good symbol of friendship of Veer Singh Ju Dev and Jahangir and it is made from Hindu and Muslim artwork and it is a 7 floor building, you will get information about it as soon as you enter inside the palace .
It is a beautiful 7 story palace which called veer singh mahal /palace or old palace.. This Palace is built in 17th century by Veer Singh Bundela. Palace is built by stone and lime.. Once you visit at Pitambara Peeth, you should have also visited to this beautiful palace.. It is about to 1km from main market of datia city,3km from Pitambra Peeth and 5 km away from railway station.
Birsinghdeo singh palace, Datiya. I think it looks like Orchha Jahangir Palace( In Architecture) Just bcz it is the amalgamation of Mughal and Rajput architecture.
Visited Nov 2022. Writing this 'review' just as a heads-up. The place is being restored by the ASI. So entry is prohibited. If you are lucky the people there might let you have a quick look. Attaching a pic of a 'restored' chhatri.

Magnificent maybe the adjective for this fortified palace! Built by Veer Singh in 15th century the palace towers above small hamlet just outside Datia. Could be maintained better. The approach road from the highway can be better though.
