Daryaganj was on my bucket list since their pitch was aired on the shark tank. Butter chicken is my go to dish and it's history and invention really made me excited. Finally after multiple failed plans I visited the restaurant and tasted the original butter chicken and honestly it didn't disappoint me and will definitely revisit the restaurant for this iconic dish. Apart from that, the ambience of the restaurant is just ok. The sitting is a bit congested but I believe because of the crowd they had to make a sitting like this. Please note that they always have a waiting of around 1.5 hours on weekends. To avoid waiting, you can book your table and then go shopping in the mall. You will get a call from the restaurant once the table is free for you. Food is no doubt delicious here. I have tasted the original butter chicken and It was really good. I would recommend this to try at least once.
The restaurant has been serving since 1947 and quite famous for their butter chicken. They also have small ice cream / kulfi counter that taste delicious. Place is a bit small and crowded so not easy to move around. Food is highly average and not much different than other Indian restaurants. Nothing too special about the food despite the big legendary name behind it.
When my colleague told me that this restaurant claimed that they invented the famous Indian butter chicken dish, I had to try it. They did not disappoint. The chicken was tender and the gravy was one of the best I've had. The spices were blended into a mixture with the right viscosity and texture. We literally wiped the bowl dry with the the breads. We also ordered their minced lamb kebab and that was very tasty too.
Overhyped. Heard Butter chicken is awesome, but i feel it was bit tangy. Breads are very good either butter nan or tandoori roti.
They claim to be the OGs of the great Delhi offering Butter Chicken. Ate the Original Chicken Pakora, Mutton Seekh Kebab & the original 1947 Butter Chicken. Food was okay but we've eaten better butter chicken at other places. Service was good.

Naam bade aur darshan chote. The Dal Makhni and Butter Chicken they boast of very pretty average. Trust me dhaba wala dal makhni ki is far better. The waiter looked down on us when we ordered regular water, and it felt very demeaning. We asked again and again but we were not provided regular water. It's very pathetic.
The food had a delicious, traditional Punjabi flavor. It can accommodate 30 to 40 people. Service could be a little faster. They charge the same prices for their menu as any fine dining restaurant in five-star hotel. Overall nice ambiance and lavish cuisine. Highly suggested.
